Very relaxing, watching kangaroos whilst chilling in the clubhouse or the balcony of our villa. What a wonderful place!

Not as good as the advertisement showed. Not most of the rooms can walk to reception. Ours one need to take 16 minutes.

Good morning Lynne Thank you for choosing to stay with us here in the Hunter. Unfortunate we appear to have not clearly represented the property design and I am sorry for any inconvenience caused. I currently offer the description: Terraced into the natural bushland surroundings are the villa accommodation, providing Guests with extraordinary views over the golf course fairways, Broken Back Range and the resorts own vineyards. If you are lucky Guests can be treated to a morning visit from the resident kangaroos, kookaburras and koalas in the private accommodation setting. And more specifically to the room type: Located in the quintessential Australian bush setting, these spacious self-catered Villas provide for the discerning traveller who appreciates the Owner’s investment in fully refurbished accommodation. Featuring two separate bedrooms, one with ensuite, and a full kitchen, living and dining area, washer & dryer, balcony and Wi-Fi access. Drive up with multiple parking space available. I certainly look to clearly let our guests know what to expect and will work with our online team to ensure what we advertise better depicts the layout of this rural resort. Your feedback welcomed and appreciated. Your host Niel Mason General Manager, Oaks Cypress Lakes Resort Your home amongst the cellar doors. We are MinorHotels Oaks Australia and on behalf of the amazing people I am fortunate to work with every day, good health, safe travels and “MYOAKS” we look forward to welcoming you in again soon.

Villa stay in bush setting

Posted Aug 24, 2017
Pros: Bush setting, just beautiful, and fresh
Cons: Nothing to add
Location: What's not to do nearby. We were spoiled for choice in the Hunter, even off-season.
The units were clean and well appointed. The setting is beautiful, backing onto bush where we heard lots of birds and even saw one wallaby. Mid week dining options onsite were limited but perfectly tasty and breakfasts were delicious.

Very relaxing

We were lucky to stay close to reception(it's a big big area) and I love their breakfast. If you like to have a relaxing and comforting time this place would be ok.

Good morning Brandon Thank you for the review and recommendation. To explain further to others reading the review, the Villas are spread widely over the 25 acres; most providing spectacular views of the vineyards, golf fairways or Brokenback Ranges beyond. Many are accessed by stairs and steep pathways. an ideal place to relax and getaway. Your host Niel Mason

Lovely hotel, plenty of space

Posted Jul 11, 2017
Great hotel, we liked it so much we extended for an extra night. Only negatives for me were poor quality tea and coffee in the room and no block out blinds so the rooms were still quite light at night (but after a big day out that became less of an issue). Otherwise a great hotel in lovely surroundings! We will certainly come back

Facilities are good quality. Several flights of stairs to access our room - carpark to pathway then up to room so not ideal for those with restricted movement, but apart from that lovely setting and friendly staff, close to centre of Pokolbin and wineries.

Thank you David, As new GM into the property I recognise opportunity to increase the product proposition about the drive up to Villas from the Reception and Restaurant complex. Will work on it. Appreciate you choosing to stay and look forward to welcoming you in again.

Golf Course Resort

Posted May 3, 2017 on Wotif
Pros: The location on a hill, three swimming pools!, relatively private and large apartment.
Cons: Not much materially, but the patronising of this older guest might be dropped.
Location: Undulating countryside away from major roads. Apart from a beach this couple doesn't seek many activities or tourist attractions.
The hotel, guest facilities, quality and size of the apartment were excellent. Plenty of kitchen equipment, if one wanted to cook, and a king-sized bed. Enough sloping land for a long walk with elevated views and impressive cafe and restaurant. The only quibbles, and these were minor, were the overlooking of all three requests made via your booking site and a perceptible weariness shown towards this senior citizen's grasp of hotel procedures by some staff. However, other staff were helpful and welcoming, and it was good value for the price paid.
