Quiet enough and close enough!

A basic independent hotel en route to Tahoe. We appreciated the friendly staff and attention to cleanliness in the room. Not luxurious, but pretty good for the price.

Not the best

The toilet hadn’t been cleaned in a while. The pillows completely flat, and the heater didn’t work that well. By no fault of theirs, bring ear plugs, Hwy 50 is behind them, very noisy.

Unfinished bathroom

Posted Oct 15, 2017 on Hotels
This was our second time at this hotel and this room was terrible!!! The bathroom was a construction zone and was being turned into a handicapped area. But it was not completed and it was not acceptable for guests! Also the toilet stopped working. And a mirror was not cleaned and the carpet was stained. There were pesky flies all day and night. Overall the room was disgusting! Don't go in Room 101. When we reported the condition to the front desk/owner, he just shrugged and said it was not complete when he bought it and his contractor left before it was done. No apology, no discount etc. So we will NOT be coming back to this hotel! That room should not have been open for customers .

In the middle of the forest

Posted Sep 11, 2017 on Hotels
Don't expect too much when you are in the middle of a forest. I was on the second floor and the stairs looked like they were going to collapse. Actually they were fixing the other stairs while I was there. Rooms are dates, but clean. Bed was not comfortable and I could get the cable to work . Bathroom was clean. Looks like maybe they have long term tentants there.

Alaska 2017

It was fine. Bathroom could have used some repairs/updating but it was adequate. Walking distance to the main drag so it was great.

Needs a lot of work.

This place is in need of remodeling. Open electrical outlet with exposed wires over bathtub/shower, cobwebs hanging from celing and beds as hard as a rock. Went to front desk to ask for two towels because we had 4 people in the room. At the front desk he acted like we were bothering him and he was put out. A little pricey at $110 for what you get. I would have stayed in Placerville where there are more options for hotels. Not sure how this place got a 3.6 rating because its not that good.

I tried to find open wires in bath room but could not find any. some people like hard bed and some soft, it is something no one can help. How can be a guest guess that what is bothering the other person, that can be of something else too. Guest has not mentioned the date, so we are not sure about the incident. Best western is one of the nice hotels in Placerville, please try that. Thanks.
