Pros: Location, comfort, friendly staff, really nothing to dislike.
Location: Ruins just across the road. 2 mins walk to square and many restaurants.
We( two Couples) Booked this to see the sights of Pompeii, which is just across the road. The hotel was very comfortable and the staff very friendly and helpful. Once again Expedia have come up trumps. Many thanks D

Classy Comfortably Stay at the Gates of PompeiiPosted Jan 14, 2018
Pros: Great location and efficient, beautiful, comfortable facility. Fantastic breakfast.
Location: Very close to the east (back) entrance to Pompeii. Close to many restaurants and the old town square.
Hotel Forum is a first-rate hotel in a nice refurbished buidling - classy, comfortable, warm, and welcoming. Our room was spacious with terrific amenities and cozy furnishings. The staff are efficient and friendly. The breakfast was fantastic: a great variety of options for beverages, main dishes, side dishes, etc. - a generous meal for a great start to the day. The hotel is only a block or two from the "back" entrance to Pompeii, which we took advantage of to avoid the crowds at the main entrance. Overall, a fantastic hotel in a prime location - my highest recommendation.

Beautiful hotel in a lovely areaPosted Jan 12, 2018
Helpful staff and comfortable room. Great breakfast. Ideal situation if you're visiting the area. Can't think of anything negative at all. Would have loved to stay longer!

Excellent hotel opposite the Pompeii ruinsPosted Jan 9, 2018
Pros: Really nice helpful people. Very comfortable.
Cons: Heating on full blast, only way to stop it is to open the window. Weather was not very cold even 2nd Jan, but they do like to blow their car horns.
Location: As before, right next to the ruins and plenty of tourist offices/ shops selling trips to Herculaneum and Vesuvius.
Spent the whole week crawling over the ruins. 30+ hours. Can't do it justice with any less, and the Forum Hotel is the perfect 'base'.

Perfect for PompeiiPosted Dec 6, 2017
We had a basic room which WAS basic but very clean (basic meaning dated) we stayed 4 days and the room cleaning service was excellent, breakfast was continental, WiFi was a bit hit and miss but okish, no SKY in the basic rooms,, ideally situated for Pompeii as its literally across the road, didn't know until we got there that entry is free every 1st Sunday of the month. I'm glad we didn't pay for a transfer from the airport to the hotel because there's a bus outside the airport (outside arrivals door) that will take you straight to pompeii for 10 euros each, there's about a 10 minute walk once they drop you off but all the hotels are very well sign posted and found the hotel very easily, staff rarely spoke to us but hey I wasn't going there for chat so ok, overall very clean hotel perfect for Pompeii, we also caught the train to herculaniam for 2,80 euros each from pompeii train station and following day train to napels 4 euros each

Lovely hotel close to Pompeii entrancePosted Nov 18, 2017
Pros: It's location - opposite the entrance to Pompeii and very close to the town centre with easy access to restaurants, shops and bars.
Cons: The bar didn't open until 17:30 each day and the self service coffee at breakfast was awful!
Location: The ancient site of Pompeii is just across the road and a tourist office was just 3 doors away where you could book trips to all the local attractions
This is a nice hotel which is ideally located for a visit to Pompeii. The front aspect of the hotel is misleading, but as you walk through the arch it opens out on to a lovely outside area under fruit trees with lots of seating and lovely lighting at night. Our hotel room - a mini suite on the ground floor - was very comfortable and modern. The bathroom was spacious with a lovely large shower, and the room had a small terrace which overlooked the garden. The bed was very comfortable and the large TV had Sky which enabled us to watch films and programmes in English! We visited in November so it wasn't warm enough to sit in the garden but we imagine it would be a delightful way to spend an evening. The inside bar is very small and there is limited internal space to sit, but this is only an issue during the colder months. There was a good choice at breakfast with both hot and cold food available from the buffet.

For the room we booked we expected it to be bigger, the food in the hotel was poor, no one to serve u at the bar, the hotel itself was clean and well positioned for visiting Pompei
