Excellent hotel for Pompeii and Amalfi coast

Posted Aug 17, 2017
Pros: The hotel is beautiful and is situated so conveniently for exploring the ruins of Pompeii and the rest of the Amalfi coast.
Cons: No tea / coffee making facilities in the room - which is usual for continental hotels, but I still missed it!
Location: Pompeii ruins, Herculaneum ruins, Sorrento, Island of Capri, Meta (sandy beach), Mount Vesuvius. Lots of places to eat. Nearby supermarket.
Hotel Forum is a lovely 4 star hotel situated 5 mins from an entrance to the Pompeii ruins and only 20 mins stroll to the local railway station where you can catch a cheap train to explore the rest of the Amalfi coast (Sorrento, Herculaneum etc) or a bus to Mount Vesuvius. In the opposite direction it is only a 5 min stroll into new Pompeii with a lovely piazza and church, nice souvenir shops and gelataria. We had a good sized, clean, comfortable room with a lovely ensuite bathroom (shower) and air conditioning. Plenty of drawers / hanging space. Every day the room was cleaned, the beds were re-made and we had fresh towels daily. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There is a delightful garden outside the reception and the dining room which was particularly beautiful in the evening, when it was cooler, to sit or to eat. The food was excellent - nice varied continental breakfast (delicious variety of croissants and cakes) and a good pasta menu for dinner. The cost of dinner was about the average price for a higher quality menu. We can thoroughly recommend the gnocchi and the tagliatelle!

Best choice in Pompei

Lovely hotel just by an entrance to the archaeological site. You can pull into the courtyard to unload then park in a private car park 2 mins away. Excellent breakfast, lovely gardens.

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Forum. The room and bathroom were spacious, impeccably clean, and the king-sized bed was extremely comfortable. The outdoor eating area provided sun or shade, and was beautifully lit at night.

Nice hotel convenient to Pompeii with free parking

Posted Jun 27, 2017
If you're looking for comfort and convenience near Pompeii at a cheap price, you've met your match. Stayed here for 1 night while visiting Pompeii and the location was perfect. 2 minute walk to the entrance. Also had complimentary parking in a gated lot across the street, which was key for us as we were traveling with a car. Hotel also has a beautiful garden to enjoy drinks/food in. Good, basic free breakfast as well. Only con was the small bathroom. Hotel staff was very nice. Overall, would highly recommend

Very nice hotel everywhere was clean and tidy the staff were very polite and helpful.Lovely gardens, peacful and relaxing. The dinind area was extremely nice with the option to have your meals out in the garden. Breakfast was sufficient with a reasonable choice of pastries, fruit, although the Coffee was rather poor. Would stay again.

Across from Pompei!

Good hotel in great place, super breakfast, great staff. However, our room was near something that kept slamming in the wind during the night, maybe a window shutter or door to the roof, but it kept us up on and off as the wind whipped around the building and caused a LOT of noise (we were on the top floor of rooms). I'm sure other rooms had a quieter time -- otherwise nice.

Very friendly staff and nice room. Breakfast was beyond our expectations. Our only frustration was not figuring out how to get English TV stations. Close walk to beautiful church. Free parking just short walk away.
