Sundance Beachfront Paradise/its All About the View! ?

Family fun at the shore
Looking for that perfect getaway beach home? No noise, luxurious solitude of the island, a deck to watch the magic of the sun setting again and again...and rising the next morning....a spectacular setting to experience Gulf-front living with180 degree water views from the sun deck, sun porch, living room, dining room, kitchen—even the bedrooms have water views!

Best Sunsets, Best Beach Waves, Best Turtle Watching. One of the most private, comfortable homes on the island; 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, a fully equipped Kitchen, Living room, Dining room all on the main floor; wonderful outdoor shower below. Walk off your private deck to the beach and watch the dolphins play or just watch from your sun deck. There is fantastic fishing from the beach or the dock- as well as shelling, swimming, snorkeling, kayaking or just watching the waves. Why aren't you here?!

West Coast Florida’s Best Kept Secret: Little Gasparilla Island:
Located just north of Boca Grande on the South West Coast of Florida, Little Gasparilla Island is a hidden Gem. The Island is about 7 miles long but less than a mile wide. The north end of the island hosts a State Park (Don Pedro State Park) while the secluded south end is dotted with single family stilt homes. There are no cars on Little Gasparilla Island—you will need to arrive by water taxi or boat. We have a dock available for your boat.

Once on the island, the most popular mode of transport is by golf cart on the golf cart path or simply a quiet stroll on the sand path or the beach.

The fishing is great both inshore and offshore. Snook, redfish, and tarpon are in abundance here. It is a fisherman’s paradise.

Shelling is legendary on the white powder sand beach. You will find many different species of shells along with the sand dollars and star fish. When you get tired of shell collecting, just take a dip in the quiet waters of the Gulf of Mexico.

The old Florida beauty of the island is evident all around you and makes this a perfect place to just sit back and relax.

Local wildlife include the ospreys making nests on the powerlines, gopher tortoises walking along the sand paths, egrets and herons catching their dinner out of the water, and don’t forget the dolphin and manatees.

The tropical landscape is beautiful with seagrapes, seaoats, and all types of palm trees. Florida wildflowers are in abundance for color, and a stray cactus even pops up here and there. Everything seems to slowly sway with the gulf breeze.

Saving the best for last would be the absolute mesmerizing sunsets. If you haven’t seen a West Coast Florida Sunset before, you are missing out! Little Gasparilla Island is home to some of the most beautiful sunsets in the world.

"Once You Have Slept on an Island

Once you have slept on an island
You’ll never be quite the same
You may look as you looked before
And go by the same old name
You may hustle about in street and,
You may sit at home and sew,
But you’ll forever see blue water
And wheeling gulls
Wherever your feet may go.

You may chat with neighbors
Of this and that.
And close to the fire keep,
But you’ll hear ships’ whistles
And lighthouse bells
And tides beat through your sleep.

And you won’t know why
And you can’t say how
Such a thing upon you came.
But once you have slept on an island
You won’t be quite the same.

- Rachel Fields"

4/5 Good

The Good, The Bad & The Ugly
The Good: Location was perfect for boating, fishing & beaching. House was comfortable, clean and well stocked. Paul's meet & greet was great at arrival. His help moving in our belongings was very much appreciated. The Hammock. The Bad: Only one useable beach chair. All others rusted & broken (really). Only 3 deck chairs, one of which had a torn seat. Of the two Lounges, one was broken and unusable. A small table would have helped while grilling. An outdoor dining area would have been heavily utilized. The Ugly: Paul did not bring replacement beach chairs & did not bring refill for water cooler. Paul did not show up at our pre-arranged departure time. We had to move all our belongings which was very annoying, with your broken house cart (no handle) . If these negatives are all remedied we would gladly return.

5/5 Excellent

Florida Escape
This was our second vacation on LGI and we had high expectations for our place based on the description. We were not disappointed. The Sundance Beach House was very clean when we arrived. The location was wonderful as we had superb views of the Gulf and were just a short walk to the beach. Our daily walks to the southern tip of LGI brought us a variety of shells, many shark teeth and a front row seat of dolphin viewing. We came to relax and escape and the Sundance Beach House made it easy for our family of five.

Excellent vacation!
We really enjoyed our stay. Beautiful house and beach view. Very kind and accommodating owners and property manager.

Great for family vacation
This house looks even better in person. Had everything necessary to make full meals. Beach is steps away. Paul was always available to answer questions.

4/5 Good

Beautiful remote island
Little Gasparilla Island is a remote, quaint, and beautiful place. The beaches are beautiful, the people are friendly, and the wildlife is plentiful. It is perfect for our 8-10 year old boys, as they have a lot of freedom to explore and knowing they limited to the island. This type of vacation is not for those looking for a luxury resort, as arriving via water taxi, hauling all your food and belongings, no restaurants/bars, LOTS of bugs (particularly in the summer). I like to think of it as 'glamping', but with an air conditioned house, running water, fully stocked kitchen, and some access to wi-fi. Plan to wear bug spray and lots of sunscreen during your stay. However, the sunsets are out of this world, the stars you can see are amazing, the wildlife (birds, dolphins, rays, manatees, turtles, fish, shark, etc) were wonderful, the quiet, the relaxed feel, the got no where to be stress-free is exactly what we needed. We did have a lot of confusion with the property manager. Although he did meet us at the dock and help haul the stuff and let us in an hour early (due to the taxi availability), the house was 'so-so' on the clean side and obviously a rushed job. Many of the dishes needed to be re-washed before using. The beach toys were mostly broken, old, and over used. We requested a golf cart for Tuesday -Wed when we arrived on Sunday, and didn't get it until Wednesday afternoon and it wasn't charged up, so we got stuck half way across the island and had to take it very slow and push at times to get it back which was disappointing. However, he didn't charge us so that was good. The house was in a great location, easy walk to the beach, and beautiful views. We would consider staying again.
