Conveniently located- perfect choice

Posted Dec 6, 2017
My Bay Villas studio apartment was ideal for my needs. I was in Port Douglas to dive not hang about in my hotel room, although it was perfectly comfy, clean and spacious. Nice balcony although it was too hot to sit out there. And two pools- nice to have but I Was too busy to use them. The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. Special thanks to Angela for all the help booking my dive trip. The free laundry (self service) facility was brilliant to deal with the dirty clothes accumulated after a few days away. It wasn't very busy the days I was there but I can it imagine it might be noisy when fully occupied. Still, hotels in town would be worse with late nightlife. Bay Villas is a pleasant 10 mins walk to tge beach/ shops or Marina.

Great location & amenities

Posted Dec 2, 2017
Loved the free laundry facilities. Very walkable to town, the beach and shopping. Mini kitchen and covered parking was a bonus also. This would be a 5 star, if the springs weren't coming up through the mattress in room 25B. The tile floor needs replaced in the room as well, as there are many chips and it is discolored- it looked filthy. Otherwise, would stay again.

Well appointed apartments close to town and beach.

Posted Nov 21, 2017
Pros: Clean, tidy and well fitted out in our studio apartment, helpful staff, plenty of parking under cover. Two small pools with a bbq areas Good value
Cons: Mirror in lounge, the rest was all we needed.
The studio apartment balcony looked out over the pool, shaded for most of the day which made it very pleasant for breakfast and lunch. The beach was only 5 mins away and stretched for miles, great for the morning run or walk. 15mins walk and you were in the main st of port Douglas or at the beautiful harbour where you can eat and drink. Here you can also see the ships that take you out tothe Great Barrier Reef, a trip not to be missed even if you haven't snorkelled before. If that's to much then take a much gentler trip on the Lady Douglas down the estuary, we were lucky enough to see a croc but even if you don't the commentary is entertaining and informative. They also have an old steam train that runs from the harbour to a lovely little tea room overlooking a pond and the golf course, a bit smokey but if you like trains you'll love it. We can definitely recommend Bay Villas and would book again if we return to Port Douglas. Great Value, great staff, thank you.

Nice hotel but noisy mornings.

Posted Nov 19, 2017
The hotel is in a good location. Walking distance to the main strip. I was woken up nearly every morning around 6 with bin collection noises. Loud on a Sunday morning. Pool pump or at least I thought it was kept me awake. Staff pleasant and helpful. If it was more quiet, I would have rated the hotel higher.

Nice hotel but noise from next door.

Posted Oct 23, 2017
Good location not far from the town centre. Nice pools. Part of the stay was spoiled by adjoining guests TV noise with their front door open. Several polite requests to simply close their door and consider other guests didn't work. Mentioned to hotel reception, nice staff but unable to resolve the issue. The guests eventually closed their door after much friction. Unusual situation, something as simple as this. Otherwise the stay was fine. Room bed was nice. Good kitchen area for self catering. Port Douglas is a fine place to visit.

More communication!

Posted Oct 15, 2017
More communication prior would avoid difficulty finding Bay villas after hours when road works present. Broken door into bathroom on arrival. Otherwise great. Good facilities and surrounds especially being ground floor with pool patio.

Great location.

Posted Oct 13, 2017
Pros: Location and amenities.
Cons: Nothing I can think of.
Location: In walking distance to main part of town, marina, and beach. Lots of restaurants and shops. Cheap shuttles around town.
Great place to stay. Super location, within walking distance to main part of town and the beach. Pools were great, and our room was in a great location, looking over the pool. Staff was super friendly and helpful!
