We stayed at Dreamcatcher apartments for a week and it was perfect. We explored the area from there and it had all we needed for the stay

comfortable place to stay

Posted Mar 18, 2017 on Wotif
Pros: closeness to the beach
Cons: the outside was a bit tired needs a freshen up.
Location: excellent location to the beach. A couple of eateries within walking distance.
We enjoyed our stay at the Dreamcatcher. The apartment was very comfortable and clean. John was only too happy to help with our enquiries. Excellent proximity to the beach. The only thing that let it down was the pool, which we felt wasnt clean enough.

Easy, pleasant, comfortable, quiet

Posted Oct 30, 2016
Pros: Spacious apartment, short walk to beach, pub nearby, friendly management
Cons: a bit dated, fridge needed replacing, a long way to Port Douglas village
Location: Next to 4 mile beach (but tricky swimmimg there?), birds, parks all beautiful. Close to major resorts, Daintree, reefs, golf clubs, etc

Quiet tropical paradise just out of town.

Posted Aug 23, 2016
Pros: It was colourful, tropical and has a great vibe. The central pool is beautiful we spent a lot of time in there! Very comfortable bedding.
Cons: The dishes needed rewashing before we used them. But this was a very minor thing for an overall great stay.
Location: 4 mile beach is almost at your doorstep.
We had a great stay and enjoyed staying at the smaller resort/apartment than some of the massive packed resorts nearby. The pool and gardens were lush, and they lit up at night for a great atmosphere. I would recommend hiring a car as its a couple of km out of town, and its easier to get to the various activities around Port Douglas and in the Daintree.

Thank you Maddy. The car hire is a good point as many people think that if they can walk to things around town and that it is enough, and in fact it can be both cheaper as well as more versatile to have a car even for rain-forest tours and airport transfers.

Pros: Handy to beach.
Cons: Arrival package could be improved similar to basic Motel fare-a few extra tea sugar coffee satchets-particularly a small carton of milk to make coffee
Location: Beach a short walk away and a short drive to Port Douglas.
We found the unit spacious and adequate for our requirements, and being only a short walk to the beach, made it even more attractive. There were some maintenance problems which John corrected with a minimum of delay and inconvenience.

somewhat disappointing.

Posted Aug 9, 2016 on Wotif
Pros: quite location, good pool (although felt a bit slimy on the bottom) nice tropical gardens. Close to a pub & the beach shack for great meals.
Cons: cleanliness, and the booking system so rooms don't get doubled booked or perhaps put another 1 or 2 king beds in some of the queen apartments maybe.
Location: close to 4 mile beach, a couple places to eat near by.
We booked 11 nights as we wanted to stay in one spot the whole time during our holiday. Booked a Luxury 1 Bedroom which is advertised with a King bed, however on arrival we were shown to our room and we discovered there was only a queen bed. After speaking with the manager and being told that is one of the luxury apartments we said why is it advertised with a king bed then on the website?? Turns out that was not the apartment we had booked and that there was some mix up and that the luxury apartments had been double booked some how. He did move us to the correct apartment after a couple nights and then said we would have to move back to the first apartment for the last 3 nights again. We ended up asking for a refund for the last 3 nights to go stay somewhere else with a King bed. After checking with him twice and being told he had refunded us we left and then checked the following day with bank & wotif to find no refund had been processed. Luckily Wotif contacted him and sorted it out. A part from this the apartments are in a quite location (not in the centre of town you do need a car or catch the shuttle into town) and homely. A bit more of a regular cleaning roster for things like fridges etc mite need to be considered as the fridge in 205 smelt terrible and I actually went to supermarket to get stuff to clean it out and try get rid of the smell with Bi Carb before even putting anything in it.

Ok but no return here for us.

Posted Jul 28, 2016 on Wotif
Pros: Loved the trees and the balconies
Cons: Appliances need a serious overhaul for a supposed 4 star location. Kitchen needed to be cleaner. Fridge was not clean and the fridge door was broken.
Location: Very close to beach.
Huge potential that has been lost in ageing rooms, appliances and bedding. When they say King bed it should be a King bed.

When you arrive into Port Douglas and find another accommodation, that doesn't give you the right to try to cancel. You must consider that we hold your reservation for several weeks if not months, knocking back all other reservations. Hotel policy restricts you from cancelling and receiving a refund on your arrival day. Cleanliness is our pride and no fridge door has ever been broken. When you make your reservation online, it's your responsibility to double check you have in fact booked the correct room and not them blame the hotel reception for your mistake, Anonymous...

Wonderful and so quiet

Posted Jul 15, 2016
Pros: Everything.
Cons: Perhaps little rubber stoppers on bed so it cannot roll when sitting up and leaning against headboard.
Location: Super and access via shuttle busses to Port Douglas central.
Had a great four night stay and the apartment was wonderful. Large apartment and very short walk to beach. John was so helpful and when asked for a few thing (locked key inside apartment with John going to get key and holding it for us and the loan of a european to Aus power plug), he had no hesitation in helping out. Highly recommend staying here. Don't be put off by distance to Port Douglas central as there are many many shuttle busses and vans that will take you and drop you back at the apartments for $5 per person.

Great apartment, very close to the beach

Posted Jul 13, 2016
Pros: Nice quiet spot, close to beach, friendly helpful owner
Cons: Parking spots are incredibly narrow, don't bring a Range Rover - lol. But could park in the very quiet street if necessary. Couch not very comfy
Location: 5 min drive to the main shopping centre but easy to park. 1 min walk to beach, 1 min walk to pub and pizza place but still quiet. Close to IGA supermk
Nice apartment in a great spot, literally 1 minute walk to amazing PortDouglas beach. Very clean, air con, free wifi, kitchen has cook top and microwave. Very friendly and helpful owner. Fold out bed provided for my daughter.
