Nice tidy unit, quiet, You have to be able (our case) to climb stairs with suitcase. It is a bonus to have inside parking, though maneuvering can be hard. Gary and Jo were great, welcoming and a source of information.

This property is in a tremendous location. The supermarket is just around the corner, there are a large range of eateries very close by, and it is an easy walk to the wharf. I honestly cannot say enough about the hosts. They were extremely pleasant to deal with, well-informed, efficient and helpful. Their recommendations were always spot on. A fantastic stay!

Excellent location right in the middle of pubs, restaurants, shops, and an easy walk to the beach or the marina for tours but still remarkably quiet inside. Spacious self-contained apartment with good sized fridge but limited cooking facilities other than the poolside BBQ (not a problem for us as we were out each night eating at nearby venues).

Perfect location . Couples stay
Perfect location right in the Main Street but very quiet. The apartment was lovely and comfortable with all amenities for relaxing or self catering . Pool was perfect temperature and although small was plenty big enough for accomodation of only 16 units Jo and Gary were excellent and helpful and airport transfers were very good. Highly recommend staying here as a couple .

Great price and location in Port Douglas
Great stay with Jo and Gary. Macrossan House was brilliantly located in the middle of PD We were able to walk everywhere we needed to go.

great location however strange thing is that Port Douglas does not cater for tourists on public holidays as not much was open even though lots of people are here on holidays. Hard to find a restaurant open. Tourism Queensland does not mention that in their promotions.

Hi Brad,Unfortunately we have no control over the government or what hours the shops, bars etc open. You arrived on Good Friday, a public holiday therefor the whole country has restricted opening hours, bars, supermarkets etc are not allowed to open. We were open and here to meet you.Jo and Gary

We had a one bedroom unit centrally located amongst the restaurants, pubs and shops in Macrossan Street yet we heard no outside noise. It was very comfortable, quiet and relaxing. The property managers were very kind and helpful before and during our stay.

Macrossan House centrally located
Macrossan House is a great small apartment complex in the main street of Port Douglas. As it is centrally located there are many restaurants and shopping options in short walking distance of the apartment.

This was an ideal place to spend a week. Very friendly people and great location. Walking distance to everything that we wanted - restaurants, shopping and the beach. Macrossan House is very goos and I would certainly stay there in the future.

Everything You Need
Great property centrally located in the main street. Everything was clean and comfortable. Slightly older style but good value for the money. Friendly owners and a refreshing pool. I would definitely stay here again.

Macrossan House was very convenient to everything Right in the middle of town Gary and Jo very helpful and obliging Offered us transport to and from Cairns Small clean pool area Bbq and deck chairs after a busy day Comfortable bed with air conditioning

We had a lovely stay at Macrossan House. Jo was so nice and helpful. The room was very nice with plenty of room and a nice big TV, also was very clean & tidy. Where they are situated was fantastic as it was so close to everything. Although it was on the main street, the rooms are very quiet and relaxing.

Like the size of the 1 bedroom apartment, perfect for a couple to share. The location is excellent, and the manager was very friendly and helpful. On-site parking undercover was very handy. This was our second stay at Macrossan House, and we will come back again. No access to an elevator, which would have helped with heavy bags

From the outset, Jo and Gary couldn’t do enough for us. I would recommend Macrossan House. It’s right in the centre of Port Douglas. Woolies is close by. If you want a self contained apartment right in the heart of Port Douglas, then try Macrossan House.

Location for this property could not be better. The room we stayed in seems to have been recently renovated which was great. It was also sparkling clean. Bed comfort is quite important for us and bed/pillows were great. We will definitely stay again whenever we are back at Port Douglas
