Our 1 bedroom unit 38A on top level 3 fell short of the 4 star rating. Major issue 1 was no curtains, so the units opposite had a great view in. Major issue 2 was the aluminium shutters on the balcony (for jacuzzi privacy) were broken in places and almost impossible to operate.Other issues were the struggling air conditioner and kitchenette power points being over the sink.

Close to everything in main Rd .Didn’t like the spa bath in room and the way the water went everywhere when you showered. Also the tiny little area to do tea and coffee in.Otherwise the property was good and staff friendly .

We loved every moment of our stay. Staff were so friendly and helpful. The accommodation lived up to all expectations. We highly recommend the hotel . Also enjoyed that Port Douglas is a very walkable town with excellent dining options.

The Regal Port Douglas
Had a wonderful time in port Douglas. The staff at Regal were very friendly and helpful. Location was excellent. We stayed in a studio appt and it was very comfortable and clean, loved the day bed on the balcony. Only negatives were you had to climb into the bath to have a shower so wouldn’t recommend this to seniors or if you have back or leg troubles, the other being the stairs as there is no lift but we managed. Overall a great place to stay and I would stay there again!

Although very close to the Main Street and local activities, we found the Regal Port Douglas to very quiet and relaxing. It provided an excellent base for our holiday activities or for a quiet time by the pool or on our balcony and in our private jacuzzi. We would certainly recommend the the Regal Port Douglas

Nice location, short walk to everything. The hotel doesn't have elevators which is not very convenient for people with heavy luggage

We stayed in a king spa room. Perfectly adequate for my husband and I. Only negative was it was a little dark in the room and we had to have the lights on during the day but it had everything we needed , was clean and comfortable and we would stay here again as it was centrally located for shops beach , bars. Staff were friendly and helpful. The pool was smaller than depicted in the photos but as we don’t have kids, it suited our needs. The is a little dated but charming.

The room was very cosy and had a good lay out. Convenient to the beach and the restaurants. Mattresses were too hard for us, so we weren't rested to well and the swimming pool, however beautiful it is way smaller in real life than it looks on the photos.

was a really great stay, the rooms where super quiet and the massive spa bath was great. This hotel does not have all the bells and whistles of a fully serviced offering however for the price you pay it is fantastic

The service and friendliness was exceptional from the moment I walked in. My room was spotless and beautifully layed out. The location was ideal to the beach and all the cafes and restaurants. There are many stairs to climb with no lifts.When hot and humid can be a challenge, but once you get to your room, sit on your balcony with a glass of wine and look out to the rain forrest in the distances, you firget anout the stairs. Many thanks for a great visit.

I loved the spa on the balcony and the location. I think a lift would be a great addition to this property as there were a LOT of stairs.

This property was an excellent place to stay handy for shopping, restaurants, the secure car parking is great so was the free ice maker in the hallway for the keeping our drinks cold. The pool was kept immaculate and general accommodation was superior. Staff were excellent in every regard. The room was large so was the shower and plenty of hot soft water for bathing. Our one concern was the bed .......so hard we love a soft bed, however it was a king size giving plenty of room to move around.

I arrived after reception has closed and was given instructions as to what to do to gain access. I was a bit apprehensive but it turned out to be really easy. So I needn’t have worried. The receptionist was very friendly and seemed interested. The hotel is perfectly placed

Property was OK, room good, close to main area of Port Douglas. The one complaint I have is there were too many stairs, as my wife and I are elderly we found it quite difficult. Otherwise good. They should mention there are no lifts in their advertising.

Nice clean room, staff very friendly and helpful. Only downside being the room was rather small and couldn’t see the TV comfortably. Location was great and I would definitely stay there again! p.s. I shouldn’t be watching TV in Port Douglas anyway!
