Great location

Posted Mar 14, 2017
Pros: Location, natural surrounding beauty and tourist excursion advice provided by very helpful staff. Great value for money.
Cons: Struggling to think of anything that could be improved. It suited us perfectly as a a family of three adults.
Location: Excellent for organised trips to the Reef. Natural beauty of Daintree and Cape Tribulation accessible by car or organised trips.
Great location, near to town, cafes, marina and beach. Loads of tourist info available and bookings for local river cruise and Barrier Reef trips all arranged at hotel for us. Located in a beautifully natural setting. Loved watching and listening to the natural backdrop of fruit bats, tropical birds and various other inhabitants. Fabulous!

Posted Feb 10, 2017
I had a wonderful stay and the area is brilliant, the only thing was it was so hot and the Humidity at night is really high and one of the bedroom didn't have aircon although there was a ceiling fan this didn't help what so ever.

This is a quaint apartment style hotel. Plenty of room for 4 people, although just 1 bathroom presents challenges at times! Nice to have in room laundry. Generally fairly clean, except for food from previous occupants still in sink drain :( We really enjoyed the pool and easy walking to everything.

Spacious, friendly and quiet

Comfortable apartment far enough from PD to be quiet yet close enough to walk in to town or to the quayside. Very friendly owners. Highly recommended

Untruthful owner

Posted Jul 19, 2016 on Hotels
We booked this property 6 months in advance, expecting peaceful and joyful vacation. And we had to stay at a room that was just 4 meters away from nearby extremely loud construction zone! It was a nightmare 4 nights stay. The owner neither warned us about the nearby construction nor apologized for the inconvenience. Instead he behaved aggressively offensive, claiming that construction is not his business and he has no responsibility for that. Such a rude behavior is truly unusual for the respective hotel owner, and the level of trustworthy of the owner is also highly questionable. I wouldn't recommend to stay at this hotel. It might be a good accommodation, but it is risky to plan your vacation here. Who knows what might be there? Owner will never tell you the truth. He is only interested in his profit, my guess.

Good hotel with spacious room

Posted Apr 24, 2016
Pros: Convenient location, spacious accommodations.
Cons: A lift for your luggage!
Location: Close to the wharf where excursions leave from. Easy walk to restaurants and shops.
We booked a two bedroom apartment with the Port Douglas Queenslander and it was great. Full kitchen, two full baths, a third bed off the living room, and laundry machines. The apartment was clean and comfortable to stay in. Everything worked well. There was free wi-fi which worked very well. Everything was within an easy walking distance. What you should know is that there are three floors and no elevator, so if you have a lot of (heavy) luggage, be prepared for a workout. There is free parking under a carport, but the spaces can be a bit tight if you have a mid-size or larger vehicle. The staff are only there from about 8am to 6pm, but made arrangements for after hours check in and check out.
