Booking got cancelled eventhough I had paid for it

I had booked a room for my uncle whom was to arrived in Trinidad very early around 9am. I knew that check-in time was 3pm, so I purchased the night before so that he can check-in immediately upon arrival. I even put a note to make sure the room is not cancelled due to no show. When he arrived, he was informed that his room was cancelled. Only with much discussion, negotiation & persistence, he was given a room. Terrible & tired experience.

Good facility unfortunately front desk staff makes your stay unpleasant from rhe beginning.

First 'Upside down' hotel - pretty neat!

Pros: Surrounded by nature.
Cons: Perhaps complimentary bottles of water in the rooms, small tokens says a lot.
Location: Location is great as the greenery is fabulous. Not difficult to get around.
'Upside down' is the local description as the hotel is built on a hill; meaning you enter the main floor/reception at the top of the hill. In the elevator, you select the floor and instead of going up, the elevator goes down thus the 'upside down' description. Very comfortable sleep, clean, and staff is nice. Location is great and the natural forestation is beatiful!

What you see is not what you get

Pros: Staff were friendly, willing to serve
Cons: Provide water and replenish tea and coffee, with even cheap China cups Something special for breakfast made from what remained after evening service
Location: Edge of town, but taxi required to go out for meal.
Impressive hotel being "upside down" as build into a hillside with lobby at top level. Hotel and room was very clean and staff both attentive to needs and competent. The hotel was let down by a few silly things. One bottle of water only provided when first arrived, no replacement given during the stay. Similarly, two tea bags were not replenished. In the room and even the lobby bar, paper mugs a la MacDonalds were provided. As a result, a cappuccino was not a pleasant experience being little more than a white coffee, which I returned as unacceptable. The hotel is on the edge of town but the roads are such that it is not possible to walk into town; a taxi is essential. The breakfast was ample with all the standard things but no special "breakfast of the day" which you could expect in such an hotel. Having said all that, I would return but would be aware and take tea bags!

Quiet and nice hotel

Quiet and nice place to stay for a few days. Very good food, and nice restaurant environment. Pool under renovation: should be more visible in the website to avoid undesired booking.

Quiet. Close to the Savannah not far from downtown

As one of the Directors that work at a hotel in the US I do understand the day to day Challenges hotel staff encounters. However I discovered a blood stain on my sheet and reported it to the front desk. There were a few hair strands found in the bathroom area which were clearly overlooked by housekeeping. One of the light fixtures was broken which I reported. I had a great stay and will stay here again. Great nighttime entertainment.

The hotel room was nice and very comfortable.However,some of the staff were not very accomodating.

Great stay

My husband and I spent a weekend in one of the executive rooms for my birthday. We had a wonderful time and a great view from our room. Checkin was quick, smooth and the agent who attended to us was very professional/ friendly. The breakfast menu was quite nice as well. Thank you for the complimentary upgrade of the internet, complimentary hors d'oeuvres and surprise cake that arrived at our room in honour of my birthday. I truly appreciated it. We did not have to use the pool so that did not bother us. However, the cooridoor was a bit dusty. It aggitated my sinus. Additionally, I suggest a better temperature control for the shower. Throughout our entire stay, the water came out extremely hot which made it very difficult to take a bath. That was a great inconvenience. A star was lost due to that. Other than the cons, we enjoyed our stay and will consider staying there again.

Close to the savannah

I checked in I got a room overlooking the savannah, the carpet looked lumpy as though something lived underneath it. Filthy drapes and an empty minibar/refrigerator. I was moved to a different room and promised this room would be better because I was told it's the better side (renovated). I was moved to a room where I had a view of the pool being renovated. Plates sit in the hallways all day from room service from the night before. I found lots of hair in my bathroom and mold decorated the ceiling in the bathroom. Housekeeping didn't replace the toilet paper in my bathroom and I didn't notice I ran out. I called the front desk and was told someone would be right down with tp. Waited 15 mins and decided to walk down the hall to see if the housekeeper was still around. Her cart was bare absolutely no toilet paper. I called the front desk AGAIN and was told the front desk person was informed that housekeeping was on my floor. The person at the front desk never called me to inform me of this but I informed her I already asked and was still waiting. Someone dragged something dirty in the hallway and didn't bother to mop it up. This hotel was a major disappointment and should not be allowed to bear the Hilton name.
