Our stay at the Old Alcohol Plant Hotel exceeded my expectations. It's hard to know what you're walking into based on the photos. The history of the space is so incredibly rich and the energy is very dense when you enter the building. This isn't a fancy hotel (I'm not into that vibe) but if you're interested in fascinating historical buildings, this place is a must stay.
There weren't any cons that I was able to parse out, but the pros were plentiful. The room was comfortable and spacious, bed very comfy. Their gym had everything I needed to continue my workout routines during our travels, and was mostly empty of other humans which is ideal. The staff was incredible both in the hotel and the restaurant. The restaurant was DELICIOUS and had gluten-free clam chowder which made my celiac partner very happy. Eating dinner there (multiple times), overlooking the water was magical. The outdoor grounds were gorgeous.
I also wanted to express gratitude for the full compassion the staff offered when we had to cut our stay one day short in order to go back home to Portland and tend to our sick pet. Previously, at other hotels where I've had to cut the stay short, I was charged for the whole stay, but the staff at Old Alcohol Plant comped our final day despite being reserved for 3, which was a huge relief given the vet bill I was returning home to.
I will absolutely return and hopefully stay for longer next time we are in Port Hadlock/Port Townsend region.
