Great Experience

Posted Aug 24, 2015
Location: The outlet mall nearby was a disappointment. McMenamins Edgefield for dinner, music, wine tasting. Portland not far. Hiking and Falls not far.
We were there for my daughters wedding and I was in charge of flowers. We needed a cool place for our 5 5-gallon buckets of fresh flowers. The front desk was very accomodating, letting us keep them there behind the desk until it was time to load and go. Overall the room was great - I didn't really like the sink for the bathroom outside of the bath. But it worked out. Would stay there again.

Great hotel for the money!

Posted Aug 24, 2015
We loved this hotel. The hot breakfast was great! The 5pm cookies & soup were awesome. All the free bottled water we wanted. The rooms were comfortable and clean! Can't beat this place for the price. We will be back again.

Easy Access-

Posted Aug 20, 2015
Pros: Helpful staff.
Cons: Shower Grab bars in side the tub units; most hotels should retrofit their shower / tub unit. Who like uses the tub in a hotel??
Location: Lots to do. Columbia River Gorge...
One of the few hotels that I booked through Expedia that had easy ADA access; the staff made a extra effort to ensure I had a room with two queen beds on the ground floor, near an entrance. The shower has a grab bar on the outside of the tub unit, just having grab bars makes a huge difference for many people; also makes showering safer for all users. Lost a Fit Bit that was not found. :( Nice /Clean/Comfortable.

Solid hotel in the heart of the Columbia Gorge

Posted Aug 16, 2015
Pros: Location! Location! Location! Beds were very comfortable. Very quiet: we heard absolutely no noise from anywhere when we were sleeping.
Cons: Complimentary breakfast buffet average at best. Not enough tables. Better info about area. Better maps. Front desk could be more outgoing.
Location: Right in the heart of Columbia Gorge. See above.
We drove down from Seattle to get to know Portland and the Columbia Gorge and to do some hiking. We spent the first day in Portland, visiting the Japanese Gardens and the Rose Garden, walking the streets, etc., and had dinner at Maya's Mexican Restaurant, which was cheap and very good, especially the rice and beans. We drove out to the hotel and spent three nights there. Two days were spend hiking among the waterfalls. The last day we drove back but went out to the Dalles, then down to Mount Hood, then back and across the bridge to the Washington side, heading west on Hwy 14 and back to Seattle. The hotel was the perfect location for what we were doing. The hiking in the Gorge was nothing short of world-class. It was simply spectacular. We will definitely be back. I have to say, however, that the hiking trails we hiked were very poorly marked. Virtually everyone we encountered would ask us for directions, and we were as confused as they were. This would be a good project for Eagle Scouts or a mountaineering club, since the state of Oregon does not seem interested, or maybe does not have the money due to lack of a sales tax. We have done a lot of hiking and for sure these trails were poorly marked from the standpoint of people who were new to them.

Location: Close to Edgefield where we attended a concert. Later we drove up historic highway 30 and saw five waterfalls.
Everything was excellent except the refrigerator clicked on and off all of the time. That made the room hard to sleep in.

Excellent Location

Posted Aug 7, 2015
Pros: The staff was quite friendly and helpful. They also serve hot soup and cookies in the evenings.
Cons: The breakfast menu was the same old thing. With the soup in the evening, it would have been nice to have something unique for breakfast.
Location: It is close to the Gorge and to an outlet mall. We also found a nice museum in Troutdale. It is also close to the loop around Mt. Hood.
This hotel is a good jumping off point for the Gorge and many other tourist destinations. It keeps you out of the major city traffic of Portland but close enough to lots of fun. One caution is that it is across the street from a small teaching airport. We loved watching the planes and helicopters but if that is not your thing- you may not appreciate the airplane and helicopter noise.

Clean, modern rooms, convenient to the gorge

Posted Aug 1, 2015
Location: Very close to the gorge. Not a lot in the way of food or shopping directly by the hotel, but within a 5-10 minute drive.
Nice, clean hotel. About a 15-20 minutes out of Portland, but very convenient to the gorge. Very quiet, comfortable beds, great breakfast. Would stay again.
