The old port.

Posted Oct 9, 2016
Location: Easy walking to the waterfront restaurants and attractions but book in advance if you want to use the Duck tour or trolley bus. Portland Observatory.
Friendly helpful staff what ever the time of day. The room we choose had views over looking the old port, so you could see boats, duck tours and the Nova Scotia ferry come and go! Best for us was when the cruise ships docked just a cross the way. The room was large modern, very clean and bright. Beds were very clean and comfortable and the hotel was very quite. To access your room you have to use the lift only as there is no stairs to access your room from the lobby. The gym was large with lots of equipment and very clean. Parking is valet only at $15 per night but cars were kept on site and retrieved very fast.

Awesome hotel close to everything

Posted Oct 6, 2016
Pros: Close to everything. The free airport shuttle was great. The hot breakfast buffet was superb. Beds were superb, rooms clean, nicely decorated.
Cons: The only thing would be no free parking, however friends did get a cut rate because they were our guests.
Location: The Observatory, many good restaurants, the Casio Bay Line where we took the ferry to Peaks Island and the Mail Boat Run, and the Railroad Museum.

Enjoyed our stay

Posted Sep 26, 2016
Pros: New hotel, clean rooms, good breakfast, friendly staff
Location: Recommend Street and Co
We spent one night at this hotel and it was very nice. Appreciated the clean room, modern decor, breakfast and the location. If you get a chance to go to Street and Co, we highly recommend it and it's within walking distance.

Cons: Needs a self parking option.
We just stayed for one night and it was fine, disappointingly we got a disabled room so no bath but not a big deal for one night.

Hello, Thank you for your feedback and thank you for choosing to stay with us. I wish we were able to provide a self park option but town ordinates do prevent us form being able to do so. Our lot is significantly smaller than the number of rooms we have so our only option is to force valet park. I realize this can be inconvenient and I apologize. We will be sure to ensure you are not in an accessible room next time! Have a wonderful Holiday season. My best, Lindsey Struck General Manager

Perfectly overall nice unpretentious hotel and great location. I would choose this hotel over any typical "4" star run-of-mill hotel. Wondered why it only have 2 1/2 star on Expedia, should have at least 3.

Good day, Thank you so much for such a nice review. As the new GM here I am working toward building our Expedia scores. Part of the reason we are rated so low is because we have not always responded to guest reviews here and they rate us lower based on guest feedback responses. We hope to see you again soon! Great to a stop over

Posted Sep 12, 2016
Pros: Location, cleanliness
Cons: The pool area would be more inviting with a hot tub.
Portland was one of our stops during a 10-day road trip. We stayed for two nights. The Hampton Inn is in a great location - everything is within walking distance. We were given an ADA-compliant room (not sure why) so it was HUGE! I didn't see the regular rooms, so can't speak to their size. Super comfortable beds and the whole place looked updated and fresh. The breakfast area is very large and very nicely done.

The staff were omnipresent, helpful, friendly and proactive. The room: large, spacious, clean. The location is perfect for walking, connecting with activities, beautiful views & sightseeing. Wear friendly shoes as cobblestone streets are part of Portland experience:) Portland is a friendly destination: enjoy!

Perfect spot for a visit to Portland

Posted Sep 3, 2016 on Hotels
We love this hotel -- the staff has always been terrific -- and we stay there often when we visit Portland. We were sorry to hear so many of the regulars have left and hope the new manager can find great folks to replace them.
