Excellent Stay in. Portland

Pros: Everything
Cons: Can't find anything that needs improvement
Location: Love the fact that we could walk everywhere
From the Moment we've arrived to the moment we've checked out we had only but the best service possible. Front desk staff very personable and knowledgeable about the area.

Very nice large room. Beds were very comfortable. Loved the bathroom, great sink!! Great breakfast buffet.

Mold

I was disappointed to find black mold in my shower, along with a splatter on the wall that appears to be blood. Considering these rooms are supposed to be cleaned so regularly, it's concerning that this hasn't been addressed sooner. In addition, the comforter on the bed was a combination of sheets and fabric, which felt very hospital-like. I understand this is for easy cleaning, but it made it difficult to sleep. There also was no bottled water in the rooms, which is a fairly common practice, and after finding mold I was understandably reluctant to drink the tap.

Watch for charges

The room was okay, nothing spectacular. The service was good, OTHER than the fact that they don't disclose everything to you up front. When you get there, there is a valet - great. They parked my car, I checked in, went to my room and THEN found out there is a $15 charge for valet. That should be disclosed BEFORE they take your car, especially when you spend $200 for a room.

Hi Kacey, I am so happy to hear you enjoyed your stay but saddened to hear you were not aware of the valet parking charges. It is listed on the Expedia website and in our confirmation letters. We have to have valet due to our lot size and number of hotel guest rooms. It is a town ordinance. Unfortunately we cannot control what Expedia prints prominently versus just listed but I have heard your feedback and will definitely look into this and make it a more prominent disclosure to all guests. Went to Portland for a last minute get-a-way, the Hotel is in a great location, it is clean and has a friendly staff!
