Excellent Stay in. Portland

Cons: Can't find anything that needs improvement
Location: Love the fact that we could walk everywhere
From the Moment we've arrived to the moment we've checked out we had only but the best service possible. Front desk staff very personable and knowledgeable about the area.

Mold

I was disappointed to find black mold in my shower, along with a splatter on the wall that appears to be blood. Considering these rooms are supposed to be cleaned so regularly, it's concerning that this hasn't been addressed sooner. In addition, the comforter on the bed was a combination of sheets and fabric, which felt very hospital-like. I understand this is for easy cleaning, but it made it difficult to sleep. There also was no bottled water in the rooms, which is a fairly common practice, and after finding mold I was understandably reluctant to drink the tap.

Went to Portland for a last minute get-a-way, the Hotel is in a great location, it is clean and has a friendly staff!

Pros: Location, price and friendly staff
Location: Old Port during the holidays - very festive!!
Very pleasant and attentive staff. We are preferential to Hampton Inn no matter where we travel!

Great Hotel in Old Port with reasonable prices.

Pros: Everything -- Check-in easy, room clean and comfortable, cookies as a welcome, fresh coffee available, free breakfast.
Cons: Sunday check-out was busy and there was a long wait for the valet. I suggest you call down to the desk for your car 1/2 hour before you are ready.
Location: On Fore Street and close to Commercial Street and Middle Street and Exchange Place.
We came up to Portland from Boston for a quick, low key get-away. This hotel is within walking distance to great restaurants, pubs, craft breweries and shopping.

Excellent location, nicely updated hotel

Hotel was booked for a weekend away for us and some friends. Perfect location, nicely renovated hotel had everything we needed. Hot breakfast next morning was a nice plus. We would definitely stay here again.

Cons: Do not get a room that is adjoining to a stranger. Kids next door who woke us up with noise through the door at 7:30 am
Leisure stay on a Saturday night. Great location. Walking distance to most activities in the Old Port

Fantastic deal if the shuttle operates

For the most part, I was impressed with the hotel and the room. The free breakfast was fantastic, and the staff was superb. The pool is decent compared to most I've seen for hotels in the area. This is the first place I've gone to where the Do-Not-Disturb sign resulted in a notice under the door about follow-on service, which impressed me. There is a great brewery restaurant that is conveniently located to the hotel, which is quite convenient when wrapping up a night out with close friends. There is supposed to be a shuttle available for service to/from the airport and/or bus-train transit station, but it was under repair, so the hotel took care of the taxi fare from the airport. Very impressive! Unfortunately, once leaving, I received a $2 coupon for a taxi to the transit station. Disappointing, as it was Veterans Day, I'm a veteran (and current servicemember), and the overall departure fare was less than that covered on my arrival. I guess if you're an arriving customer, you're a priority, but if you're leaving, you're on your own; that's how it felt. I might stay here again, but only if the shuttle is operational.

We 100% pay for your cab fare back pending the time you are returning is within our normal shuttle operating hours which is 7am-10pm. Anything outside shuttle hours would not be reimbursed.
