A nice hotel, easy access to freeway.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Nice facilities and a nice comfortable place if you travel with kids. Decent breakfast. Convenient location, close to the freeway and easy access to Downtown Portland. Clean rooms.

This place rocks. The staff was so helpful. The hotel felt welcoming and the room was extremely clean. Beds were awesome. I highly recommend this hotel. Close to shopping. I've never given any hotel a 5 star rating until now.

Very nice hotel with various stores near by!

Pros: The room and the swimming pool.
Cons: Road ways leading to the hotel.
Location: Shopping sight seeing
First time visiting the Portland area and had a great experience at this hotel!

Weekend getaway

Pros: Staff person, Monica, who managed the breakfast service, was AWESOME! By far, one of the friendliest people around. She made a very positive impact.
Went for a quick getaway to Portland. Have stayed at Holiday Inn Express hotels before. This one was pretty good.

Pros: one firm pillow, one soft pillow was nice
Cons: Kill ants Fix phones Be honest when during the refund process they said water was out for only 2 hours to Expedia, that is just not true.
First night was okay, there a band aid was in the pool, my gf pointed it out and we left to our room. Second night a water pipe burst causing water outage for the whole building and damaging their computer area. Our room and our friends adjacent room had ants in it. The phone in our room was not connecting to any inner hotel numbers so we couldn't have notified them of this issue or any medical emergency even if we wanted to using their phone system. When we left Sunday morning I notified the front desk of these issues and they said hotel GM would be calling me to try and rectify the situation. This never happened. After waiting a week I contacted the hotel for a refund for the one night and they informed me since I booked through Expedia I would have to contact them. After getting a hold of Expedia they contacted the hotel and were able to retrieve 1/2 of the cost of the night. I was amazed the hotel would not refund us our entire night considering the conditions of the rooms and lack of basic services. We could not go to the bathroom for the entire night (verified this at 10 PM, and again in the morning at 10 AM, the water in the toilets were backing up after one flush) and had to drive down to Chevron a few miles down the road to use their facilities and purchase drinking water. I can't even begin to comprehend how refunding half the night for these kind of inconveniences is fair to anyone who stayed during this time. I cannot recommend this place.

Close to 1-5 and easy to go to downtown Portland

Pros: Easy to find outside of downtown Portland
Cons: Cleaner...no ants!!
Location: Downtown Portland has so many options...too many to list!!
The room was comfortable except for the ants running around on the computer desk and night stand. We had barely been in the room before I noticed them crawling across the desk. I'm sure if I had asked for ant spray the hotel staff would have provided it, but I don't like breathing poison. The hotel is close to restaurants, shopping and easy access to 1-5 which made it convenient.

Cons: the service and the extermination of ants
I chose this hotel because it was out of the Portland fray. it took an inordinate amount of time for the clerk to check me in ( more than 15 minutes) because at 330 in the afternoon my room was still not ready - so it took another 10 minutes to check me into an alternate room. At one point I thought that maybe the clerk was playing a video game because of the amount of mouse clicks that were occuring. I specifically asked for a room AWAY from the elevator as I am a light sleeper - she assured me that mine fit that criteria. THE HEADBOARD OF MY BED WAS ON THE BACK WALL OF THE ELEVATOR SHAFT. Unknowledgable and uncaring staff are not appreciated. When I repacked my suitcase and went to the desk demanding to be moved - she said "all of the room types like yours are by the elevator." Oh, now she knows where the rooms are located. I was told that there were no other rooms. I had to leave for a meeting in Portland so I went back to my original room. The next morning all of my belongings that were on the floor were covered with tiny ants. I travel almost every week for business and it will be a cold day in hell before I consider this hotel chain ever again.

Great Hotel on the Island

Came up here from CA for the 4th of July. Not only was the hotel staff very friendly, the room was fantastic, clean, and refreshed every day by the staff. The breakfast was one of the best breakfasts I've seen at any hotel. I was glad to be staying there for multiple days! Within a 5 minute walk you could view fireworks across the entire Washington border, beautiful display! If I go back to Portland, I'll be back at the Holiday Inn for sure.
