Easy to get around downtown PortlandPosted Nov 29, 2015
Pros: Hot cocoa in lobby!
Cons: Fix heater in room!
Location: Great location to Congress St. and downtown. Directly across from Portland Museum of Art, a wonderful place.
Hotel was fine, clean, and comfortable. City was great. Pool was fun. Heater in room was too loud!

No water viewPosted Nov 19, 2015
Pros: Staff are wonderful and very accommodating.
Cons: Have liquid creamers in the rooms. I hate the powered stuff and make sure there are enough liquid creamer (2 per cup of coffee).
Location: We had an event at the Cumberland Club which was absolutely perfect. The highlight of my trip.
I was hoping to have a view of the water. Perhaps the registration staff can ask if I wish to upgrade my room at the time of the visit. They initially also had me in a smoking room. The hotel needs to go smoke-free.

Pros: Rodney (?) the Courtesy van driver. He was the best!!!!
rooms were very dirty and dusty. when my friend turned on her air vent/heater major dust came out and it stunk to high heaven. Also when checked in i prepaid for a smoking room with harbor view and i did not get it.

Pleased with our stayPosted Nov 2, 2015
Pros: Staff accomodations
Cons: I would have liked the cost of parking to be included in our room charge.
Location: Near the Old Port, lots of local restaurants.
Had a great stay. I booked this through expedia and mistakenly booked a smoking room, they were able to change us to a non-smoking room at check-in. Very nice hotel, clean and a great location!

Great hotelPosted Oct 24, 2015
This hotel has a great location and staff. Our room was large, modern and very clean. Their hotel shuttle service was always accommodating. There is a restaurant located inside plus a bar that also has good food.

Conveniently Located But No Great ValuePosted Oct 17, 2015
Pros: As mentioned above, location, cleanliness, friendly service and good coffee in the room.
Cons: I like the semi-vintage feel of the hotel, but the rooms are small but that could be compensated with an exhaust fan and a complimentary breakfast.
Location: Check out the Porthole down by the waterfront and the White Cap Grill nearby and locally owned Reny's for shopping.
We liked that this hotel is between historic area of Portland (practically across from art museum and a block inland offers lots of shops and restaurants) and within walking distance of the Port. Staff were very friendly and hotel clean. Parking convenient but extra. But seemed a bit pricey for mid October, considering it is a bit "dated" in terms of size, etc. I think the hotel would be more attractive if there is a continental breakfast--even cereal and yogurt. Coffee in room was great but I'd give up the refrigerator for an exhaust fan in the bathroom. Had a great happy hour food at White Cap Grill several blocks to the north and lunch the next day at the Porthole by the Port. Definitely a great introduction to Portland.

Pros: Central location.
Location: Nice waterfront and "Main St." shops (walk & check out), nearby sports bar(s), right across the street from Cumberland Civic Center.
Easy to get to, good parking, walking distance to everything I wanted to get to in town, nice views of the waterfront.

Beautiful Place, But...Posted Oct 13, 2015
Pros: While the room was beautiful, the view from my room was only alright. But it's very close to the Cross Center, which was good for our event!
Cons: Better communication during an emergency, even if it is a false alarm. Communication is very important!
Location: We were literally a 2 minute or less walk from the Cross Insurance Center. The Merrill Auditorium and Old Port are nearby, also!
We stayed for one night. The front desk staff was very helpful, and the young man at the restaurant was fantastic! Housekeeping was also great, giving me extra items when I needed them. I have two issues with this place. #1- I paid almost $200 for the room, I shouldn't have to pay another $10 for parking. #2- There was a fire alarm at 6:30 am, and we had no knowledge of what was going on until the sister of a neighboring room called us from the lobby to say it was a false alarm, someone in the kitchen burned toast. I didn't evacuate immediately, because there was also an 80 year old woman who would never have made it down 9 flights of stairs alone. We were trying to figure out how to get this poor woman downstairs, with no help from the staff at all. And then, at checkout, there was no mention made of this, no apology made, nothing...

Wonderful location in downtown Portland, Maine.Posted Oct 10, 2015
Pros: Location, friendliness, helpfulness.
Cons: Pricey but in my mind, worth the cost.

This is right in the heart of Portland and within walking distance of the waterfront, museums and Merrill Auditorium. The staff was very friendly and helpful and valet service is fast with courteous and helpful service.
