Comfy, close, clean and courteous

Posted Feb 2, 2016
Pros: The entire staff were so very accommodating - front desk, valet... But big gold star to the housekeeping staff!
Cons: Couldn't find a menu of the upstairs restaurant. So we opted for a place that was listed in a magazine that was on the night stand.
Location: Walk to the convention center; Few minutes drive to the Pearl and Hawthorne districts; Transit's nearby; Like I said, it's close to everything!
The beds are super comfortable, although if you don't like big fluffy pillows (like me), bring your own. The hotel is close to everything and practically across the street from the convention center. The hotel and rooms are spotless and the housekeeping staff seem to work 24-7 so if you run out of anything, they are literally there in seconds. And the staff are SO lovely. I will definitely be staying here again.

Close to Oregon Convention Center

Super easy to take the Max Light Trai from the airport. Dropped us off right in front of the hotel. The staff was excellent and the hotel was great too! Super comfy beds ☺ Only dislike was the noise from the train.

Noise from Max Train

Posted Jan 18, 2016
The city side rooms of the hotel are on the Max transit line and there is a lot of noise from them passing. There are not many trains from midnight on, so that helps.

Upscale, luxury "want to be".

Posted Jan 2, 2016
Cons: Heating needs improvement, bed was hard.
At first glance this is a very nice hotel, but once we got to our room we could tell that they were trying too hard and just not quite there.

Modern comfort and a great staff

Posted Dec 22, 2015
Pros: Design, staff, comfort, location, value. I liked just about everything!
Cons: Parking is too expensive for the neighborhood. Noise blocking from streetcar. HVAC noise in room.
Location: Easy access to Old Town, Downtown and Burnside areas by MAX and streetcar. Not much near the hotel except the arena and convention center.
My wife and I spent a weekend in Portland and tried this new hotel. We loved the modern, eye-catching design of the exterior and lobby. All the staff we interacted with were helpful and friendly. We arrived by car and left it with the valet. There is no self-parking. The thoughtful design continued to the room. I noticed many small touches that showed the designer actually thought about how the room would be used and not just how it looked. For example the closet area had lots of useful cubbies, there are adequate towel bars in the bathroom, and the alarm clock allowed dimming down to black. We had a drink after we arrived in the top floor restaurant. It is also beautifully designed with a large central bar and windows all around. There is a cool patio too if you happen to be there on a nice day. Beer selection and cocktails were excellent and the bartenders were knowledgable, personable, and efficient. We did not eat there but the menu looked great and so did the food I saw being delivered to other guests. This hotel is right next to the convention center MAX stop, the Grand Ave. Streetcar, and many buses, making it very easy to get around. It is also very convenient to I-5. The area is a bit gritty with lower-end motels and fast food nearby. I feel like this hotel is pioneering a gentrification push into this area.

Terrific Location

Posted Dec 21, 2015
Pros: The hotel is very clean.
Cons: Free breakfast, pool, or hot tub.
Location: Lots of eating places.
This hotel is in a terrific location with lots of eating location. I wish the hotel offered a continental breakfast and a pool. It would of been great if they offered a shuttle service. We had to wait a while to get a taxi to pick us up and drop us off.
