Anniversary getaway!

Posted Jun 25, 2016
Another wonderful stay at the Sentinel. This time we stayed in an executive king which permitted access to the 'Room At The End Of The Hall'. The room was clean, very comfortable with a great view. The staff are always exceedingly professional and helpful with just the right amount of friendliness. Definitely willing to go that extra step to ensure your stay is an enjoyable one. The front desk staff sent a pint of Salt & Straw ice cream in celebration of our anniversary. A thoughtful gesture that was well received.

Quiet, unpretentious, dog-friendly hotel!

Posted May 29, 2016
Pros: Location, dog toy and dog dish, friendly staff
Cons: The card readers were a bit finicky, and the cleaning staff missed our sign to skip the room, but not a big deal.
Location: Close to Powell's book store, parks, shopping, 0.5 mile from the waterfront, easy to get to the Pearl district, breweries, Voodoo Doughnuts.
The Sentinel is a beautiful renovated hotel close to Powell's in Portland, and is a great place to stay for a weekend when traveling with a dog. The rooms are clean, spacious and have nice amenities. There is free wireless, and the staff is very friendly and attentive.

Beautiful hotel in a great location

Posted May 8, 2016
The staff was so wonderful and helpful, they even overheard it was my birthday and sent up a complimentary bottle of wine. The rooms are beautiful with super comfortable beds. the restaurant in the hotel is delicious and the bar super fun at night. I will definitely be staying here for a returning trip.

I am thrilled to hear you enjoyed your Birthday visit. I always love to hear when our team surprises our guests and it sound like they did just that. Happy Birthday once again and I hope we see you when you return to Portland.

I like the Sentinel's policy of giving you credit for the bar amenities in exchange for opting out of daily cleanings. My room facing the central alley was clean, nicely stocked, and quiet. The view was a brick wall of windows about 30 feet away, but I was in Portland on business, so didn't mind. The location is ideal, near the light rail and Powell's Books.

downtown; close to everything

Posted Apr 25, 2016
Pros: Old-style ambiance with modern efficiency and service.
Cons: We were satisfied with everything.
Location: Most of our activities involved family get-togethers in the vicinity.
We were in town for family occasions and the hotel served us admirable as a base of operations.

Valet was extremely slow!!! Waited over 25 minutes for my car. The valet workers stood around talked to one another while I was waiting for my car. None of them were friendly by the way. Other than the complaints about valet my stay was great.

Great PDX hotel

Posted Apr 22, 2016
Pros: Location, Staff, atmosphere. Decoration is old worldish without being cheesy.
Very comfortable hotel. Very nice rooms. Jake's downstairs is great, a real Starbucks in hotel. Good location. A pretty good walk to the water if that is important to you. Giant food cart lot just around the corner. Great staff. Parking is a bit pricey, but so is everywhere else in the area.
