No elevator for heavy bags.

Posted Apr 18, 2017
Decent price for a last minute booking on a Sunday night. Centrally located within town . Plenty of parking with easy access. Very clean and comfortable room. Quiet! Only complaint was no elevator. I had heavy luggage for a second floor stay. The morning free breakfast was kinda lame but I was only interested in coffee.

Decent hotel short transit to downtown.

The hotel was in a great location. Some staff were great however one woman was very unapproachable. The Marijuana smell was noticed on our 4th day there in the main lobby. The continental breakfast was a grab and go toast and bagel type of thing open 7 to 10am. Vending machines were all broken. Bed was comfortable however bathroom was slightly moldy. Needed re-tiling. Overall we would stay there again you can't beat the price and location.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS SHILO INN EVER!

Posted Mar 8, 2017
Cons: Filthy and disgusting (see picture) - needs improved. I could not tell if it was menstruation, bodily fluids, puke, spilled booze, or a combination.
Guests arrived with what to have been reservations through a credit card online. Staff ignored them for about 20 minutes. During that time conversations indicated the place was overbooked so staff were trying to figure out who they were going to screw out of a room to fix. Staff was rude and unprofessional. Guest was then told the room had not been paid for and demanded payment. This was booked through Expedia using a corporate credit card - After 45 minutes of calling finance manager, having a card copied, scanned, and faxed to secure the room. Uncalled for all the way around - will not be booking with Expedia again. Got into room and it was an absolute filthy dump! I am surprised these guys are able to operate under the Shilo moniker!

Nice for one night

Posted Feb 14, 2017
The Hotel was close to Portland Downtown( you can walk or take the bus). The room was clean and the people very friendly and helpful. It's not luxury but for just a night in Portland perfect!

Close to the convention center

Night staff was very friendly. Room was clean, but could use updating. Part of the reason for booking at the Shilo was free breakfast. Breakfast was virtually non-existent. There was cereal, but no milk. Tea, but no hot water. No napkins. Staff explained it was because of change of ownership and food truck not coming yet. Not sure, what that had to do with not having hot water prepared for tea, or why the owner couldn't have had someone go to the store to purchase breakfast items for guests paying over $100 a night to stay in a room that is supposed to include a free breakfast. Technically, dry cereal, bagels, and yogurt strong breakfast.

It was good. The staff did not really explain the charges up front. Other than that, the stay was nice and quiet. The room was clean.

Amazing stay in Portland, near everything you need

Posted Feb 2, 2017
Pros: I liked everything about the hotel.
Location: nearby: MODA Center Lloyd Center Regal Theater a ton of restaurants and pubs.
I stayed at the Rose Garden Shilo Inn for a week for work. The neighborhood was great. It was walking distance to the MODA Center and near the shopping mall and movie theater. You had everything you needed to make your stay even better. What made the stay even better was the staff. The General Manager and front desk staff, esp. Margie (sp?) were top notch. They were friendly, helpful and most of all down to earth. Made my stay away from home even more enjoyable.

Pros: everything
Cons: Many had difficulty with key cards. Mine would not work. Management should have corrected this issue long ago.
Location: The restaurant and bar next door at the Hotel is superior.
Very friendly staff especially from Margi who always wears a smile and very friendly.
