Easy to get to from the airport

Hotel is worn. Staff helpful. Breakfast was good and the room clean. The $100 damage deposit was quite a surprise.

This was the second time I stayed

Posted Aug 15, 2015
Pros: Convenient
Cons: Cleanliness
Location: it was a business trip
The first time I stayed I was happy with the room and would give it an excellent rating. The second time I was disappointed in the room. Not clean no Kleenex crowded. The first time was on the first floor and the second on the second floor room 226. It seemed like a different hotel. I am not sure if I would try it again.

It did the job

Posted Aug 12, 2015
Arrived very late and had to keep getting buzzed in the front door because the convenient door to our room had a broken card reader. We were a family of 5 with an 82 year old, two children, had lots of luggage and were put on the 2nd floor with no elevator. The reservations were made for 5 people but had to request a rollaway bed because they didn't already have it in the room ready for us. When we checked out our room had to be inspected before we were released. Was appalled and embarrassed.

Not a comfortable experience

Posted Aug 7, 2015
Careful when you are booking with Expedia that you do not book a smoking room by mistake. That's what I did. Its indicated when you are booking but not clearly enough. When I arrived at the hotel I was informed of this and there was no other room for me to stay in. It smelled quite toxic in there and wasnt clean. I smoke, but I don't want to smoke inside and I don't want to sleep in a room that smells like an old ashtray. The fridge also had an odour which is beyond words. There were hairs in the tub, the wifi worked but you had to sign in every time you picked up the phone. The only positive thing I can say is that the staff was pleasant.

Thank you for your comments. Whenever you encounter a problem, the sooner we know about it, the more likely we can fix it. (Usually for an upgrade fee) We haven't had an empty room in weeks, but most days begins with 4 or more just so we can fix issues. I hope you will choose our property again. Just know that the sooner you book your room and the sooner you work to solve any problems, the more likely we are to solve them. We work hard to satisfy our guests when it's possible.

More than adequate hotel

Posted Aug 7, 2015
Pros: Room was very clean and quiet. Lots of selection for the TV
Cons: More variety for breakfast would be nice
Location: If you have a car, the hotel is close to everything. Hotel is half a block from public transit.

Really not bad

Posted Aug 2, 2015
Pros: Room service, price.
Cons: Make it even cheaper ;)
It's a cheap hotel in a decent area. I've never had problems with staff or other people staying in. I've stayed here 3 times. The rooms are pretty clean. Room service comes every morning and replaces the shampoo and towels as well as cleaning up and making the bed. There's a good amount of channels available on a pretty nice TV. Free wifi is fast enough to watch youtube. There's breakfast even though I've never cared enough to eat it. Overall you get what you payed for in terms of quality of the room and area... but it's all I need. There's no WOW factor but if I stay in the city again this'll be first choice.

Portland summers

Posted Jul 19, 2015
Looking for a decent hotel at a reasonable price in summer in Portland is impossible. I stayed at a high falutin hotel for 2 days in downtown and then 5 days for the same cost at this super 8. The room was clean, the staff were friendly. The maintenance in the room was a little supsect (loose sink and bathtub fixtures, drawers that were very difficult to open) but not a deal breaker. All I eat is cereal so the breakfast was fine. Busy area so getting left into or out of place from about 3-6 pm is difficult. Overall decent place to rest (but I find the whole city's hotels way overpriced).

Thank you for your comments regarding your recent stay at our Super 8. The Portland market is very tight right now and advanced reservations are highly recommended during Summer season. We hope to see you next time you come to town.

smoking room smelt

Posted Jul 18, 2015
Pros: Place to store our bikes, breakfast included, easy accessibility to our car when on the first floor.
Cons: Our smoking room smelt acrid, there should be more non-smoking rooms available or better yet, not allow smoking in any rooms.
Location: Nice area. Easy to find from freeway. Wonderfully close to restaurants. Easy to get downtown (15 mins.) on freeway.
Somehow we were given a smoking room and we're not smokers and no other room was available. The mature woman at the front desk in the evening was wonderfully helpful though.
