Loved it!

Posted Aug 18, 2016
Pros: Food, location and charm!!
Cons: The inn is an old house so the room size is small! This was not a problem for a short stay but possibly would have been for a long one.
Location: Oceanfront, a short drive to dining, sightseeing and shopping! Many interesting landmarks, historical sights and the Bush compound on Ocean Drive!
We enjoyed our two day stay at the Beach House during our time in Maine. The inn was very charming, located in the quieter section of the Lower Village directly on the ocean front. There was ample parking and a short drive into Kennebunkport that was always bustling. The breakfast was excellent. They provide afternoon "tea" and a later afternoon port and brandy with cheese and crackers. The rooms were large enough for our two night stay but for two people would have seemed a bit small to us for a longer visit. The trolley has a stop directly in front of the inn. Parking is a challenge, but not impossible, in the village, so the trolley was nice. There is an oceanfront walkway in front of the inn and a couple of charming sitting areas on the front porch and side lawn. The sitting are inside the inn is also quite nice. The rooms have air conditioning units but the air wasn't needed during our visit.

Great location, fantastic beach access

The staff, breakfast and afternoon breaks helped make the visit special. It is a great spot for a romantic getaway in Kennebunkport! Quick access to town, restaurants and activities. Helpful and knowledgeable staff.

Beautiful Weather

Posted Jul 16, 2016
Pros: The location was perfect. Just the right distance from other businesses and tourist attractions.
Cons: The staff could smile a little. I observed one staff member crack a smile once in our four night stay. Maybe it's a Maine thing but I doubt it.
Location: Shopping and restaurants near by. The ocean is across the street in front of the Inn and a beach area a couple hundred yards away.
Our first time in Maine and was pleasantly pleased. The ocean town was friendly and clean. The weather was perfect, mid 60's in the morning and crept up to the 80's.

Quaint Inn near the water, Great Service

Posted Dec 29, 2015
Pros: Deluxe continental breakfast, evening turn-down service, afternoon snack, pre-dinner wine & cheese
Cons: The outdoor furniture was a bit weathered and showing signs of rust - outdoor furniture cushions would also be a nice upgrade.
Location: Unobstructed view of the ocean. Nice beaches within walking distance. Inn has bikes available for guests. Village within biking distance.
We stayed here for six nights during the third week of September, and we were not disappointed at all. Very quaint and beachy - exactly as its name implies. Although our room was on the small side, it was adequate, comfortable and clean. The service staff was excellent and attentive to details - from the deluxe continental breakfast, to helping with suggestions for local attractions and restaurants, to making sure our room was perfectly cleaned each day and turned-down each evening. We enjoyed getting up early to have coffee on the porch as the sun came up each morning, and then sitting beside the fire on the terrace each evening as we met and conversed with other guests from all over the US as well as other parts of the world. Loved having coffee & tea available in the lobby 24 hours; cookies and lemonade in the afternoon; and brandy, wine and cheese in the early evening. Inn is located in a residential area without shops or restaurants nearby, however the village of Kennebunkport is just a few miles by car or bike. We definitely want to come back again, and highly recommend this facility to others looking for a quaint & cozy experience.

Charming beachfront inn!

Posted Dec 7, 2015
Pros: The main lobby, breakfast room, living room, and porch are gorgeous.
Cons: Would love to see the rooms updated to match the quality of the lower floor.
Location: Steps from the beach and a short drive to Dock Square, Cape Porpoise, & Walker Point. Able to avoid the Prelude crowds, close enough to participate.
Beautiful inn with lovely porch looking over ocean. The living room is complete with a cozy fireplace where we were able to bring our own wine and snacks; they offer port, brandy, cheese, and cookies as well. The breakfast was included and more than filling. We had a wonderful time!

Beautiful inn across road from the beach

Posted Nov 19, 2015
Pros: It was very clean and tastefully furnished.
Cons: Staff was helpful.
Location: Within a short drive to the charming village of Kennebunkport with unique shops and excellent restaurants.
The inn was a New England Classic with direct views of the ocean from the dining room and sitting room. The living area was furnished with comfortable couches facing a huge stone fireplace. The decor was updated and cozy.
