I’ve stayed here before renovations and now after the renovations. It was beautiful before and even more beautiful now. The service is exceptional. This is such a great place to stay!

The in-room coffee is awful--both the complimentary and the mini bar offerings. In the library they serve good Stumptown coffee from 6-9, but if you are a get up and want a cup of coffee in my room kind of person like me, bring your own and use the French press that they provide in the room. The location is fantastic, and the atmosphere (decor, cleanliness, staff) is great too.

This was the best hotel experience I’ve ever had. Everything from the room size to the location to the amenities to the staff was top notch. And the bed was so comfortable that I didn’t want to get up!

The room didn’t look like the picture online at all. It was so small when you were using the bathroom, the door hit your leg and the piano bar music that they advertised that didn’t happen so it was kind of a letdown.

This was my first visit to Portland and the Heathman Hotel was such a great welcome to the city. It’s in a good location and walking distance of restaurants, parks, and events. I loved my room and I loved the library! I will definitely return because it is now what I see when I think of Portland.

Unfortunately, as with all cities, there were a lot of homeless people near the hotel although the hotel is in a very nice part of Portland.

Great location downtown. Completely safe. Very friendly and helpful staff. Only complaint was bathroom floor had something sticky on it that got on my shoe- it came off woth a bit of scrubbing.

I was charged for the room twice. Once through Expedia and then again when I got here. I was in a huge hurry so I wasn't really paying attention. I gave them a card I thought was only for incidentals. That kind of put me off and I hope this gets remedied soon. The room is clean and it's quiet.

Dishonest charges?
There are hidden costs with our stay. Which I thought were dishonest. 29 bucks for having mm’s if you want them or not. You will still be charged $29 dollars extra. Why do this? Why stay here then?

The hotel location is great,the staff were accommodating and friendly, service was wonderful. The room are clean and comfortable. They have a library there which is pretty unique. I enjoyed my stay there and will definitely stay there again next time.

When we checked in we were given a paper that described the extras we would receive. That evening we attempted to collect on one of the items from the list and the front desk person said there was no such benefit. When we produced the paper given to us at check in that offered the benefit, the front desk person said the hotel didn't provide that perk any longer. Perhaps they should update their paperwork so as to not lead customers on. On checking out the front desk person did not review our bill with us prior to charging our card and did not provide us with a paper copy. Upon arriving home we check our final bill only to find the hotel charged us for something we didn't use. And to top it off, they charged us for the credit card fee they had to pay when we used our credit card. We were already charged a guest amenity fee of $30.00 for things like using the in room coffee maker, the room safe and other standard things. They also charged us for the credit card processing fees. If the Heathman Hotel thinks it is ok to charge back the CC processing fees, then they are not the kind of luxury hotel they profess to be, rather one that feels it is important to nickel & dime its customers to death. Not a property I would recommend to anyone.

Tastefully furnished, spacious with comfortable beds and a nice view. Some noise from the elevator but not too bad. Room cleaning at 4:45pm and desk staff not very helpful when consulted. It's not clear to me why the hotel charges a resort fee for basic amenities one might expect at this level.
