Great B&B / Breakfast was amazing!
Our stay was amazing. Homemade breakfast was much better than I expected. Host were very friendly and kind. Highly recommend.

Our stay at the James place couldnt have been better. Conviently located,very clean,awesome breakfast,the owners were super nice and helpful,no unpleasant surprises when we arrived. The house was just as advertised. Cant say enough nice things about our stay. Definitely would stay there again.

This has got to be one the cutest places I've ever stayed at! The hosts were wonderful and friendly. The location was a quick walk to everything including shops and restaurants. The breakfast was super delicious. Thank you Bill and Mary Ann!

Disappointed
The proprietors were very courteous. Our main complaint was the bathroom size. Looked like a closet was converted to a bathroom--literally. Comparable to a travel trailer size. Your knees almost bumped the door while on the toilet. You could sit and wash your hands in the sink with the shower at the other elbow. Everything was clean and the room was quaint. Would not return, too that room anyway.

The James Place Inn exceeded all expectations. Our room was clean, lovely, and inviting. Mary Ann and Bill were great hosts and the breakfast was delicious. I have a gluten intolerance and my meal was made to accomidate my needs... including gluten free homemade scones. Their attention to detail and friendly interaction with guests made this the perfect place for a long Maine weekend stay.

The innkeepers were so friendly and helpful. The place is walking distance to the main street. I think it would improve if they had a larger ice machine and bottled waters for the guest. Would definitely go back.

Thank you very much for the kind words and feedback. One of our first improvements was to add a water filter and softener for the entire property. You may have noticed the extra-sudsy soap during your showers. The filter makes the tap water even better than bottled water because it doesn't have the plastic leaching and we save the environment from disposable bottles. That's why we include the glass-bottled water in all the rooms. We added the ice machine for the second floor rooms this year. Hope we can discuss this during your next visit. Thanks

Wonderful stay!
The property was beautifully landscaped, the Inn was lovely, well maintained and comfortable. Our Hosts were friendly and helpful in offering places and guides to Freeport and it’s offerings. Breakfast was AMAZING. Quite the best of Inns we have stayed at.

Great Freeport Overnight
Beautiful bed and breakfast convenient to downtown Freeport. Our room was comfortable, the hosts were friendly and helpful, and breakfast was delicious. We were able to use the electric car charger, and Bill cooked a gluten free breakfast for me.

We could not have picked a better Bed and Breakfast. The James Place Inn is everything you would hope to find in a B&B. Freeport is a great base that you can use to explore so much on Maine. Thank you for the amazing adventure. We are still talking about the homemade scones.

We really enjoyed our stay here! It was quiet, very comfortable, and the owners were fantastic with making sure we were happy throughout our stay. Breakfast was delicious. The inn was located on a quiet side street right by all the shopping district, which we loved, as we could just walk over to it to shop and get dinner.

James Place Inn was a pure Maine experience in the intimate community of Freeport, and within walking distance to many excellent restaurants and taverns. And of course we loved our daily ‘walks’ to LL Bean (Ching Ching). Our Christmas shopping is done! Mary Anne and Bill are natural, down-to-earth hosts who are as engaging as you want. The owners are super helpful, and go out of their way. We didn’t have to unload or load our luggage. On point advice for dinner choices. Breakfast was so good. Room was clean, and everything worked.

The James Place Inn is a wonderful place to stay in Freeport, Maine. We stayed in the Blue Room and it was beautiful. Mary Ann and Bill were perfect hosts. The breakfasts were amazing. We highly recommend! We will definitely be returning when we visit our daughter at Bates!

Mary Ann and Bill were delightful . I can’t say enough about their kindness and accommodating nature . They make an art of innkeeping . To say their breakfast was incredible is putting it mildly . We are going to stay there another night on our way back home on Sunday .Fabulous!!! The location is top notch ,walk to everything . A not to be missed gem .
