The property was not central which is why I rated ‘area around property’ 3* however, it didn’t matter to us as we easily got Ubers into town and they were not at all expensive

Three of us were vacationing in Portugal and stayed at the HF Ipanema Park for two nights. We originally only reserved for our first night in Porto but liked the hotel so decided to stay an extra night. Our tv did not work the first night but someone came and fixed it the second night. That was our only problem. The room was clean and large, and the beds were comfortable. They have a nice small pool (about 10m) and an attached hot tub indoors as well as a funky roof top area with a pool. We are swimmers but it was too cold to swim in the outdoor pool. We did swim a little in the indoor pool but much preferred the nearby Club Fluvial's natatorium (4 lane 50m and 15ish lane 25m pools) for training. That facility was about 1k away from the hotel and then maybe a 15 min walk to the beach from there. Unfortunately there was a coastal storm so the beach was closed the but waves were incredible. There were several grocery stores within walking distance to the hotel as well as a nice cafe a block away. We took a cab to get to downtown Porto, and it was about 7 euros each way. There was bus service nearby as well. The staff was super friendly. We didn't opt for the breakfast but the restaurant looked good It had a buffet style set up for dinner and there were a lot of folks there enjoying it. We would definitely stay here again if in Porto.

Very nice stay off-central but close enough
The hotel was great, close to a couple supermarkets within walking distance and at about 10 minutes from the botanical garden. There is a bus stop within 2 minutes and if not raining, a nice walk to the central area of Porto. Breakfast was good with plenty of hot and cold options as well as beverages. We used the indoor pool quite a lot which was nice. The gym could be improved but not sure anyone books this hotel for it. Overall very clean and pleasant.

Although the weather had changed, the rooftop pool looked like a wonderful area to spend some time in. The indoor pool does feature a hot tub, however the jets are very few and operate for only 1 minute at a time.

HF Ipanema Park is a beautiful hotel located about 15-20 min uber ride to Porto! This hotel is as amazing as it looks online! Very well kept, clean and up to date. I highly recommend this hotel. If you are thinking about paying extra for the breakfast, it is a must! Its a buffet style breakfast that offers anything from oatmeal, pancakes, fruit to bacon and eggs.They also have mimosas, coffee and fresh juices. Its delicious! We enjoyed the indoor pool which was a very nice way to end the day after a whole day walking. Every staff member we interacted with was very kind. Thank you so much for such a great stay!

This must have been a very nice hotel once. It’s clean and spacious, it’s faraway from the city centre, but ok location. Staff are nice. However, the hotel is in urgent need of renovation, at least my room on the 12th floor. The bathroom was modern and spacious, but room furniture was literally falling apart. The air con was practically antique and the safe was TINY without room for a tablet or laptop. You can hear the people next door through paper-thin walls. Pool was small and very cold. It doubles as a bar so imposible to use after 6pm even though it closes at 8pm. Indoor pool very average. On the last day reception was calling at 10 mins past checkout time. Last time I experience that was in a shared youth hostel 15 years ago! This might have been clases as 5* one day but it isn’t now, not even a very good 4*. Breakfast was basic and very limited for vegetarians. It’s very expensive for what you get. It’s overall decent, but overpriced and not very comfy. I can’t recommend.

The property and staff were excellent. The only thing that would have made the location better would be if there were a few more restaurants in walking distance (hardly the hotel’s fault). Would definitely stay again.

A comfortable and modern hotel situated in a good location between the beach and the commercial / tourist areas of Porto. Bus links I. All directions are located within very short distances from the hotel making getting to the main areas easy. The roof top pool was great for late afternoon relaxation with a laid back atmosphere. Would Recommend this hotel.

Staff was extremely helpful and nice, the room was always clean and I really appreciated the effort to be more environmentally conscious and not wash everything every day unless necessary which they will still do if you want! If I could improve anything it would be the room entertainment, I wish there was a way to connect to Netflix for those that don’t speak English.

The hotle is well designed and rooms are large and quiet. The weather was a bit chill for the outdoor pool so we enjoyed the indoor pool in a rainy day! As a designer i loved the vibe and interior details of the hotel 🙌

If you're wondering whether to book this hotel, go for it and book! Not sure why there's any negative reviews for this hotel - our stay was perfect and the hotel itself was lovely. Excellent value too. Room was clean, spacious and cleaned every morning. Staff were very helpful. Spent time in the indoor pool whilst it rained which was very luxurious. Admittedly we didn't use the hotel restaurant/bar as we were out in the town every evening but they looked lovely. Hotel is less than a minute walk to a bus stop which takes you straight into town - ubers were also very cheap at night. Only thing I would improve is to have sun loungers at the pools - there's only seats which aren't that comfortable for a day of relaxing or reading - there's plenty of space so not sure why there isn't any. Other than that, lovely hotel!

Good hotel - slight adjustments needed
Hotel was good and staff were excellent but three points-1) rooms were dark outside of the bathroom- as weather outside was dull, so was the room; 2) my vegan daughter had no options on the menu other than just taking vegetables off the buffet which,at €25 is very expensive- I understand that it is difficult for small traditional restaurants to cater for vegans but a large modern hotel should be able to come up with a starter, main and dessert or two….. it is a growing market ;3) it is noisy in the rooms - you can hear everything from above and to the side - not sure if you can retro-fit soundproofing easily

Hotel with a cool roof-top pool, Porto is great
A great hotel with a cool roof-top pool. Maybe a bit too far out of central Porto, but the buses are good and you can walk in via the river which is nice (about an hour). Good access to the beaches near Foz, where there is also a nice Mercado with nice eateries. Overall, Porto is a great stay and a really interesting city on a beautiful river

The hotel and staff were faultless. Polite, helpful and diligent. However- less pleased to see someone smoking in the pool. Hotel is also situated in a down at heel area - that said - amazing cheap public transport links to the centre, Matosinhos and Foz.

Convenient location.
My stay at the hotel was ok. Mixture of experience with staff, some very helpful and friendly while a few were a bit abrupt. All in all, it served its purpose and it was relatively easy to get around town from the hotel.

I loved the hotel. It is beautiful, well appointed, great large guest rooms and public areas. The pool area is amazing with great views. The breakfast was beyond my expectations. Ipanema Park Hotel, Porto
Modern hotel with a roof top pool and sun area in the fresh air. Food is average but the service was great. 200 bus runs direct to town centre and is across the road. Lidl’s supermarket close by for all items at low prices. Location cannot be faulted as everything is 100m away.
