Excellent value, pleasant, well located, plus ...Posted May 19, 2017
Pros: Views from restaurant, public spaces, bedroom lighting, comfortable bed, modern bathrooms (actually a very well designed shower in mine).
Cons: Lifts a bit slow, although there are three of them.
Location: Covered market, restaurants at many price levels, metro connections, quiet, safe.
Plus: a 17th floor bar & 18th floor restaurant, with excellent views of Porto's red roofs, church towers and the occasional spectacularly ugly car park! Seriously, a wonderful vista 99% of it anyway. The restaurant is a little pricey by Porto standards, but high quality. There is a small outside terrace, coveted in the right weather, but be careful of sunstroke; there's simply not room to shade every table with parasols. Best to book on the busier days of the week. The rest of the hotel is comfortable mid-range with newly renovated rooms. Rooms are neither spacious nor cramped, just a comfortable size for a week's stay. Mine had a small balcony, without seating, but it was pleasant to look at the views towards the Se (cathedral) and the Port lodges. The lobby is spacious & rather chic, and the breakfast room (ground floor) is of adequate size to make waiting for a table unusual even when the hotel is full; a pleasant change from many other 4* hotels in European cities. The area is very quiet, just on the edge of a shopping district (Bolhao) and a nightlife district (Trindade). North of the hotel is a very sedate residential area. Many top attractions are easily walkable, or accessible via the Bolhao & Trindade metro stations. A solid four stars, shaded into five stars by the good value and - for those like me who value them most - the viewpoint bar & restaurant. Write down the hotel address, as there is another Dom Henrique hotel, which can confuse taxi drivers.

Fantastic HotelPosted Apr 10, 2017 on Hotels
We went for a long weekend as a birthday treat for my wife. Checking in was fast abd easy, and when they noticed it was my wife's birthday that day, they presented us with two tokens for glasses of port wine in the bar which was very nice of them. Our room was on the 15th floor and was very clean and looked like it has recently been updated. When we got back the first night, not only had we been given the two tokens for the port wine, but there was a bottle of cava in the room waiting for us. Breakfast was good with a good selection of cold meats, fruit and cheese. Along with a small group of hot food as well. The bar on the 17th floor is well worth a visit for the views over the city alone. Overall this is a very good hotel and we both will recommend it to family and friends

Comfortable and very clean hotel. Bar and balcony on 17th floor a nice facility especially as we had great sunsets during our stay. The breakfast was plentiful but nothing out of the ordinary. Local restaurant Tapabeno Trindade was great and just around the corner. The Celtic (and wonderful tapas) themed bar opposite was a lot of fun too. An easy walk to the station and into the historic centre.
