An excellent hotel in a prime location.

Posted Oct 13, 2016
Pros: The location, the excellent helpful, friendly staff and the very comfortable beds.
Cons: The Nespresso coffee machines and having to queue to get a cup of coffee at breakfast.
Location: The hotel is located right in the historical part of the city with everything in walking distance. The Metro and Sao Bento train station 5 minutes walk
This is a very well equipped and friendly hotel in a great part of central Porto in the old town. My room and bed were very comfortable with an excellent shower. However, no bath. Otherwise, it had everything I needed, even a couple of umbrellas in case it rained. The only downside to my room was that it was a little dark and that had I been sharing, there was no privacy between the bathroom area and the bedroom. Breakfast was adequate, however, I found having to queue for the Nespresso machine which only produced a very small cup of coffee very irritating and for many guests especially the older ones, very confusing. For the less patient amongst us, a large urn of filter coffee as an alternative would have been great.

Bien localisé. Le personnel parle anglais et français. Tranquille.

Room review

The bathroom design is not the best functionally. The counter space is non-existent and the glass doors are not the most convenient especially if you need privacy. There could be additional electrical outlets by the bed for charging your devices etc..The room itself was comfortable and roomy but could do with additional lighting (knowing about the theater theme of the hotel). Breakfast was excellent with good choices and the staff were very accommodating and friendly. Turndown service was a nice touch.

Excellent location

Walking distance to many great attractions and dining entertainment, the river district the decor and style of the hotel were fun, it is theatre themed and the effect is well thought out, the theater lights go on as you walk along corridors etc.where they fall down is the bathroom, they are not very functional

Centrally located

Pros: Nice rooms, great staff, very good buffet breakfast, great location and clean.
Cons: More lighting in the rooms and more hangers in the bathroom.
Location: Central, near the river places to eat all around.
This hotel is located centrally and is a short walk from the river area. There are many restaurants around. The staff is very helpful, especially Silvia. In fact she can help you with tours in Porto as well as day trips outside of the city. If you can take the Taste of Porto food tour as early as you can after you arrive to get advise about places to eat. The hotel is very clean and the shower is great. I arrange 3 rooms for 3 couples and they were all very roomy. The breakfast buffet is well stocked and has good variety.

The hotel is dark, dark, dark. Whoever did the interior design should have made the whole place lighter. The staff were great, the food was great, but the darkness transcended everything to the stage that we did not want to stay inside the hotel any longer than necessary. Too bad, because the location is terrific.

Design hotel in het centrum van Porto

Posted Sep 1, 2016
