Retro style hotel with a convenient location

Posted Dec 20, 2016
Pros: Location, decor
Location: Very central to most things. There is a great local restaurant just round the corner that serves local beer and food!
Easy check-in and staff were friendly. Hotel decor was a nice touch! Within walking distance of train station, city, restaurants and shops. Price was good. A perfect weekend stay all-round.

Location V's Comfort

Posted Sep 4, 2016
Pros: Apart from the location, nothing else.
Cons: It was just not for me, breakfast service, general facilities, freshness of the room, the bedding!
Location: Great location, you can get around easily to see all the sites and to the station, metro where you might like to check out other hotels!
The hotel is centrally located. If you have a particular penchant for Art Deco then this might be right up your street. The hotel is basic, no frills. The room I stayed in as a single traveller was located overlooking bars and restaurants, traffic and was extremely noisey so no sleep for me over 3 days! The rooms also had a strange smell and the position of the bathroom in front of my bed just did not work for me.

Nice quirky hotel

Good central location within easy walking to all the interesting places in old Porto. Very good cold breakfast buffet. Clean comfortable rooms. Very helpful staff on reception marked out on a map tips for places to visit and good restaurants nearby. Would stay there again.

Don't judge a book by it's cover

Pros: It's quirky interior and historical exhibits on the landings
The hotel is in the centre of Porto, is easy to find, just 5 minutes walk from the metro. At first glance you may get the impression that it is a bit dated but step inside and your senses are awoken with a lovely fragrance that follows you as you walk through the foyer. At the end of the foyer the magnificent Art Deco interior is a sight to see. Climbing the grand circular stair case with it's broad landings you are treated to examples of a distant age. The standard of accommodation is good and the rooms are spotless. The staff are extremely welcoming, helpful and kind.

Central location - good value

Posted Mar 9, 2016
The hotel lies relatively near to two Metro stations in a fairly central position. Our large room faced the rear of the hotel, which meant no view but, more importantly for us, it was quiet. The bedroom and adjoining bathroom were unusually large, nicely decorated and clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast choice was limited and rather uninspiring but OK for a few days. We liked the quirky collection of 1950s and 1960s memorabilia dotted around.

Good location

Posted Mar 7, 2016
The hotel is quirky but pleasant and the rooms are of a good size. The bathroom was very new and bright. Breakfast is an ample cold buffet although a bit carbohydrate loaded. Service at the hotel is generally fine, but apparently if you want a drink at the bar you have to contact reception. A notice to that effect would be useful. The location of the hotel is excellent, right in the centre of town, just off the main street and everything is within walking distance. Overall good value for money.

Very nice hotel for this value

Pros: Friendly for all types of travelers, good breakfast.
Cons: More choices for vegetarian guests at breakfast. Please change the sign in bathroom regarding washing clothing - not very friendly.
Location: Smack in the middle of the city, walking to all attractions and great eats around, as well as metro and Central Station.
Great authentic building with spiral staircase, very clean and well run. Felt safe and location is central. Will consider for my next stay :)
