Everything you could want and more.

Posted May 20, 2017
Pros: Pretty much everything.
Cons: The approach via the main gate is very underwhelming for such a gem?
Location: A perfect location in a town that you will find hard to beat. Culture all around and as much choice as one could need when eating out.
Palácio do Freixo and Oporto are a perfect combination for a city break. There is nothing more one could need, good food, great service, ultra pleasant staff and above all peace and quiet. We would return in an instant.

Stylish hotel

Posted May 4, 2017
Pros: The riverside location and the cheerful and friendly staff
Classy hotel with a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. Staff are very friendly, happy in their work and could not do enough for us during our stay. We enjoyed a full and varied range of breakfast choices and the quality of food served at dinner in the restaurant is exceptional. Porto is a lovely city and the Portuguese people are very friendly

Hotel is fabulous.

Posted Apr 26, 2017
Pros: The staff1
Cons: For a 5 star hotel walk in showers should be provided and rooms could be a slightly larger.
Location: You need to either walk (45 mins) or get transport to city centre. Oport is a lovely city with lots to do and see. River cruise is good.
The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. The service is fantastic and food is very good. Even though the hotel is not in city centre the location is great and a free shuttle service is provided. The only down side: would have preferred a walk in shower instead of shower in bath.

Fabulous. Great mattress. Port while we waited.

Pros: The rooms, the food, the location.
Cons: Not a thing.
Location: Right on the Duoro river. Walk to historic area, restaurants, mshops. Pleasant people. AVOID metro/bus.... Pickpockets.
Incredible breakfast and dinner. Lovely staff. Shuttle service to town. Took a while to figure our logistics of which elevator where, but well worth it. Delightful check in. Door service.

Everything we hoped it would be from the pictures!

Posted Mar 21, 2017 on Orbitz
Pros: Everything.
Cons: Possibly run more shuttles to city center.
Location: We took a walking tour downtown, ate out at lots of places, visited port wine houses for tours and tastings, took bus trips into the countryside
The palace part was gorgeous, with the river view, lots of terraces and chairs outdoors. Our room in the factory part was spacious, clean, comfortable beds and pillows, modern bathroom with full shower. We never heard any noise except when our window was open, and even then not enough to disturb anything. The blackout curtains totally worked. Everyone seemed to be genuinely concerned with helping us get what we wanted, whether it was dinner, the huge buffet breakfasts, a taxi or shuttle (it was about a 10-minute drive to the city center), a reservation, or another box of tissues. Indoor pool was relaxing; complimentary robe and slippers were a great touch. We enjoyed our entire stay and wish we could go back there every month!

Large room overlooking River Douro

Posted Mar 20, 2017
Pros: Overall relaxed atmosphere with high level of service
Location: Very little to do nearby but taxis cheap and only 10 minutes into Porto center.
Greeted by friendly reception staff and a glass of port.Shown to a large comfortable bedroom overlooking the River Douro. The hotel had a largely young staff who were friendly and helpful at all times.Breakfasts were good with a range of hot and cold food.Had 2 meals in the restaurant which were very good also.Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hotel.

Nice building

Posted Mar 6, 2017
Location: Not much to do in the immediate vicinity - need a cab ride!
Check in staff seemed inexperienced, but the rest were great. It's a bit out of the way!
