They could do a lot better

Cons: Check in was slow. Gave me a room by the elevator and ice machine, despite Gold status and 4pm arrival. Bed was uncomfortable, sheets too small

Surprised

Pros: It had been recently renovated.
Cons: Nothing comes to mind.
Location: The motel was only a short distance to downtown Portsmouth. Cruises of the harbor and trips to the Isle of Shoals were ten minutes away.
I was pleasantly surprised to find a nicely appointed room with modernistic bathroom facilities. The bed was very comfortable. The warm breakfast exceeded expectations. The only drawback was a room that seemed to be smaller than some other Motels that I had used.

Paid for a king bed and got a pauper's place

Pros: The clerk's explanation of why paying extra for a king room was meaningless. It was so bad that it will be a story for the ages.
Cons: Give my money back. Contact the chain, their staff has a different opinion of their relationship with Expedia than what is on Expedia's web site.
We paid extra for a king bed. The room was tucked behind the laundry chute. Just fit a double bed and no closet. We used the ironing board for our luggage rack. When I told the clerk they said there was no guarantee of what we got when we used Expedia. They could not give us another room because the hotel was filled. The parking lot, however was far from filled. I should get a refund from Expedia, at least that is what the clerk said. There is something wrong with the hotel, Expedia or both.

Our room and the hotel were very clean, cozy, and elegant. The staff genuinely cared about us and made sure our stay was high standard.

An Alright Stay

Pros: The breakfast and pool areas
Cons: I wish the room windows could open slightlt.
Location: About a 10 minutes drive to Downtown Portsmouth. Easy access to highways.
Close to town, easy access to all amenities. Loved the outdoor pool. The area was quiet enough for me because there wasn't much traffic on the roads. Great breakfast bar area. I was on the second floor in a standard king. Clean bedding and enjoyed the softness of the mattress. The pillows were too soft which probably made me not sleep well. I am usually a side- sleeper. I noticed when I was on my back taking quick naps, I was OK. Everything else worked well: a/c, microwave, coffe/tea maker, television, water temperature for showers . The bathroom was clean. Loved the shower head! I used all 3 choices for water pressure. My room was well maintained by the house keeper. I will return for a quick getaway. The free van with Manny was great. He is friendly and very accommodating .
