This is a very good cheap option for staying in Prague. If you're there for the city centre, there is a door to door tram service which takes about 20 minutes to the centre. If you are there for the Congress Centre, it's ten minutes' walk away. The hotel was clean, my room was very spacious and fresh, and the staff were helpful. The hotel does not offer any catering, and the only downside is that the bar/restaurant which shares the site and is supposed to function as the breakfast and dining option, keeps erratic opening hours. It is great when it is open, but do not rely on it being open at the advertised hours. There is a fridge in the rooms and a Lidl five minutes away, so nobody needs to starve.

The restaurant should be opened for breakfast at 8:00 in the morning. I left at 8:15 without breakfast because the restaurant was still closed. I paid 8 eur for nothing.

Had a lovely few days in the Union hotel. Staff were very helpful especially Mukhtar who couldn’t have been any nicer. Happy friendly face whenever you came in no matter the time 😄

Hotel Union, Prague
First impression was of a nice good quality old style hotel. Service at the desk was very friendly, polite and efficient. The room was wonderful, new bathroom, powerful shower and daily shampoo\gel. Towels are changed if left on floor. Bed was extremely supportive and comfortable. Breakfast was brilliant, different things to try, all delicious. Best porridge ever. Hotel near for trams. Restaurant was closed during our stay. Trains and trams are noisy but Lidl nearby for a little something to help you sleep. Tram stop outside the hotel to connect to the centre, about 10 minutes and the A Metro/119 bus to the airport, about 1 hour.

A great place to stay, in Prague
I just came back from Prague, where I and my wife stayed at this excellent hotel, for 5 nights, from September 20 to 25, 2019. This is a great hotel, in every aspect. We were so lucky (and/or smart…) to have chosen it, while there were so may other choices. It made our whole trip totally enjoyable. (Btw, we also like Hotels.com very much.)

I liked my spacious deluxe room and its retro feel. The noisy train, lack of shower curtains, and the weird breakfasts with a bad instant coffee machine were drawbacks.

This hotel has been nominated "HOTEL OF THE YEAR 2014" but, in my opinion, it should have been nominated hotel of the year 2018 as well. Friendly and professional staff. Comfortable rooms. Very clean and courtesy were all over the places. If I go back to Prague, I would NOT hesitate to get back to it again. Price was also good. Quite central and close to anywhere. I would definitively recommend this hotel to anyone! Very happy very delighted!

Good warm hotel, slightly out of the city centre
Stayed on the top floor in a twin rooms on the corner. The room was spacious but there were large beams overhead and the roof sloped into the room somewhat. This led to a slightly odd layout in the room. There were also no blinds on the side windows but due to the angle of sun this wasn't too much of an issue in terms of sunlight coming in. The en-suite was nice and water was powerful and warm. Staff were friendly and helpful and spoke English very-well. The breakfast was a mix of continental and buffet with a choice of typical breakfast items - pastries, cereal, eggs, meat etc. Wi-Fi in the room which worked well. The hotel was a slight journey out of the centre - E.g. from the Old Town Square it was a good 40 minute walk, or about 15 minutes on a tram (18 was the preferred choice). We were able to store our bags after check-out whilst we wait for out flight.

Another brilliant stay!
It was not the first time I have stayed there and it is ideal from the vantage point of being close to the center without the constant hassle! The staff are amazing and extremely helpful and friendly!

Vacationed in Prague to visit a close friend who lives there. Hotel Union was in my friend's neighborhood. Very friendly staff, in particular the manager and her staff in the hotel restaurant. I look forward to another stay here.

Just an average hotel. Should definitely not be 4
Apart from it’s good location it’s just average. The amenities in the room were minimal. No coffee or lotion. It’s supposed to be 4 star but feels 2.5/3 star. The room was badly cleaned one day. Glasses not washed, bed not layed.

Very nice hotel in convenient location.
Gladly surprised of the condition of the hotel. Pictures don't do justice of it's actual presentation. Steps away from Tram stop that takes you all over Prague (not even 10 minutes from the Old Town). Restaurants and stores walking distance from the hotel. Great for families. Very spacious accommodations. Fantastic breakfast. Extraordinary cost-benefit ratio.

Great hotel. It's a tram-ride away from the center and attractions. It is next to the tram stop and railway, so you can hear it a bit at night but other than that, it's a lovely, comfortable hotel.

An old hotel on outskirts of city
The first night we had 2 rooms on the 1st floor - neither had a/c, only one had a fan. It was hot that day, so we had to open the windows and it was so loud! I at first asked for a fan for the room that didn't had one and was told they didn't have fans. The street it is on is very noisy! We asked for different rooms the first night, but they were booked, so we were told we could change the 2nd night. These rooms were much better - one on 5th floor and the other facing a courtyard AND they both had a/c. They were both quiet and comfortable.

Building was build in 1902, Nice staff, close to the center of Prague. However, no ac, train and tram next of the building, so, so some noise when you open the window. If the window is closed, then you will not hear anything.

Great hotel experience
We had a very comfortable room and the staff were very helpful. One staff member was able to help me find a lipstick for one of my friends that bought when she was in Prague! She offered to get it for me.

Affordable hotel in good location
Nice hotel with very helpful staff. Good restaurant and like much of Prague is very affordable. Location has easy access to central Prague and old town. Would definitely recommend this hotel to others.
