In general was good, I would recommend because the location, but the rooms could be in better shape. The wifi doesn't work well. The breakfast was good.

Nice location and views of harbor.

Finally took a vacation to PEI after many trips to Canada and not including it. The loyalist is a nice place to stay but could use a little bit of a face-lift, staff was very friendly. Within walking distance to a few local restaurants, hotel loyalist restaurant was the best.

Working vacation

Pros: Location Good size room
Cons: Rooms very dated. 2nd floor room facing the back of the building overlooks a flat tarred roof. Pillows and mattress musty smelling
Location: Perfect location for activities on the water front. Close to boardwalk-sovereigner shops, restaurants, dinner theatre
This hotel is close to everything on the waterfront. Allowed an early check in, which was appreciated. Staff very helpful. Eighties style on the inside. Bedspreads faded and mattress worn...in need of an update. When entering the room...musty smelling..appeared to be coming from pillows and mattress. Room looked very clean.. the odor in the room though, disappointing.

Worst stay ever.

AC was down and it was unbearably hot in the room, although not in the hallways. Maintenance did come have a look but it made no difference. Chamber maid was the only staff member who admitted the AC was out in all the rooms. Check-in experience was poor. Older lady at the front desk seems annoyed with our late arrival and was. It friendly. Made sure to inform us of where the kids were not permitted (exercise room) and pool without a parent. Rooms in dire need of an update. Hunter green and dusty rose decor, old style furniture. My kids had never seen anything this old in a hotel before and were disgusted by the condition of the room. I had stayed here in the last and it was a mediocre hotel. It has since dropped to poor in my opinion (and I'm not all that fussy). Do not stay here unless it is your last option!

over priced for the room

if you are looking for a sub 100 dollar a night hotel room but want to pay well over 100 dollars this place fits the bill. it starts with a parking lot filled with potholes, the room key always needed three tries to get into the room, if you don't actually push on the door to close and push hard the door is probably still unlatched, the mattresses on the beds have to be atleast 20 years old and uncomfortable, cracked light switch plates, if you don't mind using multiple remotes to turn the TV on and off and flick through the channels, furniture that is old and all marked up from scruffy from things hitting it, unplugging room stuff to plug in things like laptops and phone chargers, looking out your room window and seeing all kinds of compressors and other equipment from the hotel right outside window, and slow Internet where watching netflix and spending more time watching the buffering circle, because multiple remotes is just plain dumb in an expensive hotel. then this is your place to stay. I for one will not be ever staying here unless they drop their nightly rates to 79-89 dollars a night. but just to be fair any staff I encountered while staying here were super friendly and very helpful.
