Everything was great once we found it. This is a timeshare property so it took awhile to find location and how to get in. But once we figure that out it was a super good time. Hotel.com should send out that information.

Condo is well-furnished but shabby and somewhat cluttered. The decor is dated and overall feels run-down. Reservation agent we worked with to coordinate our arrival and departure was very friendly and helpful. There is no Air Conditioning and really needs ceiling fans at least because it is very hot at night despite being by the ocean. Condo came with beach equipment available for our use. Location is gorgeous with a beautiful ocean view off the back lanai. It is right on north shore of Kauai away from the more touristy parts of the island and close to any number of cool hidden beaches and adventurous activities.

Aloha and mahalo for your review. We're sorry you were dissatisfied with the decor of the condo. We will notify the owner of your concerns. Very few homes on Kauai have air conditioning since the climate is usually comfortable, but this past summer has been the hottest on record. We are glad that you enjoyed the location on Kauai's beautiful north shore. The scenery is spectacular and the most beautiful beaches are conveniently nearby.

Great Condominium

Posted Aug 10, 2015
Pros: It’s a Great Location, Privacy, and convenience to stores.
Cons: N/A
Location: Nearby beaches, golf course, swimming pools, Restaurants and other family activities i.e. riding horses, Zip line, and hiking.
Ali Kai – Condominiums, It was a fabulous stay, beautiful location, groceries store within a mile, restaurant, beaches, riding stables. If privacy is your forte this is the place to be, quiet location, and well equip condos including access to swimming pool.

ok but needs updating

Posted Jul 10, 2015
Location: location is great in Princeville- easy to get to. Easy parking, near pool.
Our room needed a just little updating and blinds. There was no air conditioning but that wasn't too bad due to good breeze coming through. Good views (some nene visted us everyday), good sized pool, nice beds. Its a busy complex and with the windows open it can get loud on the weekends.

Aloha and mahalo for sharing your experience. We will notify the owner of the unit about updating the decor. Air conditioning in homes is rare on Kauai because the trade winds do a good job at keeping the climate comfortable, and I'm glad that worked out for you. I hope you'll consider staying with us again during your next visit to Kauai.

Not what I expected.

Posted Jul 9, 2014
Cons: Install an A/C. Include daily maid service. Update kitchen especially appliances. Fridge was moldy, coffee maker was rusty, oven was rusty and dirty.
Location: Good, close to the beaches although it still requires driving but not that far.
It was disappointing and it was not the condo I expected. There was no AC! Even with all the windows open and the cool breeze, it was still hot inside the condo. The humidity did not help so it was sticky inside the place. There was no daily maid service. They will provide for additional cost. I have had a condo in all my previous visits in the different Hawaiian islands and the daily maid service was included in the rent. The place smelled "old" especially the kitchen. The fridge had mold. We got a two bedroom condo and there was only one TV. The kitchen appliances are old and rusty.

Don't do it

Posted Dec 29, 2011
Cons: So bad we left
Location: Princeville and the north shore of Kaui is an amazing location. Highly recommend the north shore
Ali Kai is looking pretty worn out compared to other condos in the area. Our particular unit smelled very strongly of mold so we moved to another condo.

Good Value for Princeville

Posted Jul 3, 2011
Prices at Ali'i Kai were reasonable compared to our other choices in the Princeville area. Our 2 Bedroom/2Bath condo was comfortable and well furnished. We were able to make ourselves at home while we were in the condo. We were out and about a lot, but it was a pleasant enough place to spend the evening/night. I think the listing said there were 2 pools at Ali'i Kai, but you will only have access to one of the two pools depending on whether your building is Ali'i Kai I or II. The mountain view was pretty with constant waterfalls visible. While we were not ocean front, we could see the ocean from our windows since we were on the second floor. No AC, but with the windows open and ceiling fans on, it was comfortable at night.

Worst experience

Posted Jun 25, 2011 on Hotels
We've been taking vacation in Hawaii every year for the last 4 years and this year was the worst. No internet access (this day and age???), no air conditioner, the refrigerator didn't work the first 2days. We could not keep the milk cool for our kids. No luck with complaint to the management. We felt they just took the money and run because we could not cancel our stay at their condos. We were told our place would be cleaned daily. There's no such thing at all.

Bad timing??? Could have been better???

Posted Jul 19, 2007
Had to reserve hotel quickly due to a family members sudden illness on Kauai. Showed up at office around 9pm. No one around. Had to wait for an hour to have someone let us in and this was with two kids and after a somewhat long trip. No brochure on area/condo in room. Had to wander around looking for the right pool that we could use. Noisy too. People coming and going with no respect to others at all hours of the night. Once, hotel staff was setting up brunch??? (had no idea if it was for guest or private, no info) at 5:00 am also with no respect for others. Also, tried to contact office about internet service (paper on frig said it was provided) and nobody was in the office the three times we visited and twice when we tried calling. Finally got a hold of somone and was told had to pay for it, weekly after only have two days left. Maybe just bad timing, but otherwise okay. Condition of room was nice, pool was nice (once we found it) and they had beach chairs/mats that you could borrow to take to the beach. Might recommend, experience could go either way...
