The staff welcomed us the moment we arrived and made us feel at home, eventhough the hotel was fully booked. The lobby seemed a bit generic in comparison to the grand facade. With its open floor plan, the bar and breakfast area did not invite us for relaxing while waiting for our room. But overall, the location is perfect and I would not hesitate staying at the Viking in the future.

"College visit"
We have stayed at this hotel four times because of its proximity to a nearby college. The hotel is gracious and the staff is courteous. Glad to have the restaurant and a coffee shop downstairs!

"Watch out for the bait and switch..."
When we had arrived the staff tried to give us a room in the old building. I did not think the counter staff were friendly at all. The men that had cleaned our room (both Days) were great. First they told us that the new hotel was sold out, and we did not get a room it the new hotel. We wanted to use the indoor pool. They did not have one in the older hotel. We did not want to swim and then go outside and walk across the street to the older hotel. We told them that the add on the internet shows the new hotel. I said to them the review will depend on what they do from that point. Guess what a someone just cancelled there room. So we were able to stay in the newer hotel that had the photo in the add. (A photo is worth a thousand words,} The Hotel Suite, was one of the most beautiful Suites I have ever stayed in. It was a great deal price. A must see. If the counter staff would learn how to be nicer I would had given them a 4.5 rating....

"Great location."
Great location on harbor and walking distance to restaurants, etc. Bathroom is small but livable for a short stay. Small fridge in bedroom was handy.

"Lovely hotel on the waterfront in Newport"
Beautiful hotel, with wonderful staff. Lovely location on the water with outside dining. Unfortunately, it was to chilly in Oct during our stay for that. The staff was very accommodating and even showed us to our room and explained everything. There are several seating areas downstairs to sit by the fire and read or enjoy a glass of wine. Also a bar and restaurant that overlook the water. It is located right in downtown Newport with easy access to many restaurants and shops.

"Very efficient front desk"
The check-in process was literally less than 2 minutes. I simply gave them my credit card, they checked my reservation, I was given a set of keys. The checkout was just as easy and quick. A great place to stay for a weekend trip to Providence.

"Very high quality hotel in great location"
The Pelham Court Hotel is located in the center of downtown Newport, right next to all the shops and restaurants. The hotel provided me and my girlfriend with exemplary service, along with a neat, clean, and comfortable room. The bedroom had nice covers and a TV, a large flat screen TV was provided in the living room with a gas-powered fireplace under it, the bathroom had all necessary toiletries, a full kitchen was provided with a stove, a dishwasher, a microwave, and a fridge that dispenses water- our room had it all. The design and decor of our room was superb, and there was a complementary Keurig machine just outside our room with a bunch of coffee options. A continental breakfast was provided to us each morning that included bagels, yogurt, cereal, pastries, fruits, orange juice, milk, and oatmeal. I am incredibly happy with the service we received, along with our room and everything that came with it. I definitely recommend the Pelham Court Hotel to anyone staying in Newport (especially couples) during any time of year.
