Nice Hotel close to Plaza Santa Ana and Puerto del

Posted Aug 14, 2017
Pros: The Staff were very friendly and helpful with any requests in respect directions, Taxis etc: Excelent location for sightseeing and dining out.
Cons: Unfortunately there was a power cut to the hotel during our stay and there was a problem with the emergency lighting.
Location: It is also an easy stroll to Puerto del Shopping area and pick up point for the Madrid city tour buses and a little farther the lovely Indoor market -
The Hotel is very close to Plaza Santa Ana with loads of Restaurants and Tapas Bars. .

Immediate area a bit scruffy but in general position of hotel good. Man checking us in unfriendly not a good example of how hotel staff should be. Room was dark and dingy. wouldn't recommend or stay there again.

Near Plaza Mayor

Posted Jun 26, 2017
Pros: Location
Cons: Stronger AC
Location: Prado Museum
Valet parking underground was costly but convenient. Close to everything. Can hear your neighbors unless you close your bathroom door. Air Conditioning wasn't very strong.

Fairly basic hotel but central and sufficient

Posted Jun 6, 2017 on Ebookers
Pros: The breakfast, the free wifi and air conditioning. Staff were very helpful and pleasant too.
Cons: Make all the rooms non-smoking then it would smell cleaner and fresher. Also improve the roof terrace.
Location: In a very central location and within walking distance of lots and bars, restaurants and shops. Most places are accessible on foot from the hotel.
In need of a bit of a touch up but overall was okay. The only disappointment was we were put in smoking rooms after specifically requesting non-smoking rooms. Even though the room was clean you could smell the smoke as it had been impregnated into the whole room. We could have moved the day after but as we were only on a weekend break we didn't want the hassle. The breakfast was better than expected and even had chocolate cake which did it for me! Went onto the rooftop with a drink one night which was very pleasant but not enough room for everyone as it is rather small. Again the rooftop could be improved and would be a lovely place to relax. Would be happy to stay again for a weekend break.

Very Comfortable Hotel

Posted May 26, 2017 on Hotels
Hotel Cortezo is situated in a prime location, from where most tourist attractions are easily reached. Staff was very friendly and all out to help. Breakfast was very satisfying. Room was very comfortable and adequate for our 7 nights' stay. WIFI signal was rather weak at times.

Hotel is old and bathroom very dated. Staff friendly. Location is great but across the road from a homeless soup kitchen

Best Location

The location is excellent! Just walking distance to Plaza Mayor, Prado Museum and Botin restaurant. Tip: make an online reservation in the Botin weeks before your arrival. There are also lots of good restaurants nearby.

Worst experience ever!

The room was nothing like the picture, no air conditioning. The front desk offered a fan and to open the window. Below the window was a dumpster, not a pleasant smell. Needless to say we left and found a wonderful hotel.
