Wonderful Hotel in Perfect Location

Posted Sep 14, 2017
Pros: Ideal location and nicely appointed rooms with large bathrooms that have both a shower stall and separate bathtub. Attentive and hospitable staff.
Cons: The air conditioning in the bedroom loft did not seem to lower the temperature to the desired level of coolness.
Location: Ideal location in Madrid City Center - walking distance to all of the major sites.
For those who want to experience the ambience and feel of old city Madrid, the NH Collection Palacio de Tepa is the place to stay. A renovated historic palace, it offers excellent accommodations with professional service, and is in walking distance to all the major sites in central and old city Madrid. The junior suites are well worth the extra cost. Our room, number 202, was spacious and ideally located on the second floor with a balcony overlooking Plaza del Angel - a quaint square with restaurants and outside tables. In the afternoon and evening, local musicians entertain the patrons having tapas and drinking cana or tinto de verano. Although the plaza can sometimes be noisy, the room's double windows and shutters keep it almost sound-proof. We would definitely stay at NH Collection Palacio de Tepa again when visiting Madrid.

Perfect location!

The NH Collection Palacio de Tepa is a very comfortable hotel rigt in the center of all of the activities of Madrid! We were able to walk to most of the things in the Old City, and sit out at many cafes in the area right next to the hotel! Taxis were always available. The concierge was most helpful in making several phone calls to confirm reservations that we had made. The morning we left at 5:30 am, there were croissants, rolls, fruit, juice and coffee available. Very nice! Our only downside was that the hotel does not exchange American money for euros. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Thank you very much for taking a few minutes to comment our services and facilities. We are glad to know that you enjoyed your stay and the neighborhood. Regarding the exchange, I am afraid this is a very unusual practice in Madrid Hotels. In any case, we remain at your entire disposal for anything you may need. Best regards,

Very smart hotel in excellent location

Posted Jul 18, 2017
Location: The location couldn't be better. Metres away from lovely Plaza Santa Ana and an easy walk to all the main attractions and plenty of bars and eateries
We had no problems whatsoever. We did not have breakfast at the hotel but there were plenty of places to eat within metres of the door. The hotel was very smart, the bed was extremely comfortable and the room well supplied extra comforts such as coffee machine, water and dressing gowns. We used the small gym and the reception staff were always helpful. Highly recommended.

Excellent from arrival to check out.

Posted Jul 10, 2017
Pros: Pros: EVERYTHING Cons: None
Location: Close to the best restaurants, museums, parks, tourist attractions.
After arriving from a mediocre trip to Ibiza this hotel was the perfect ending to our Spain vacation. I wish I would have stayed at this hotel for the first part of our trip to Madrid prior to going to Ibiza. The front desk professional, Isaac, is they type of person you would want to experience at any hotel. He is definitely FIVE STAR! We will be back and this is the only hotel on my list. Thank you again, Palacio de Tepa and Isaac, for a fantastic ending to our trip. See you soon.

GREAT LOCATION !!!!! We walked almost everywhere since there was so much to do and see. One of the best restaurants was right across the street. The breakfast at our hotel was well worth it, fresh fruit, healthy choices, wonderful pastries and coffees. Definitely would return

Unstaffed bar, windowless room

Posted May 30, 2017 on Hotels
There are two big problems with this hotel. 1. The bar is rarely staffed. If you need to get a drink, you might be facing a ten minute wait. As a result of this, the bar is always empty so it's totally lifeless. 2. My room, and presumably other rooms, had NO OUTSIDE WINDOWS. I slept in a windowless room for two nights, with the resultant strange sleeping pattern that results from having no change in light levels as you get closer to morning.
