Great resort with plenty of eating and drinking options. The staff were exceptional right down to the friendly gardeners. Pools and pool areas were fantastic. Lovely white sandy beaches, but such a shame you couldn't really swim in the sea. The beaches were plagued by weeds washing up, but an effort was made to clean them up. The entertainment was brilliant.

I have never stayed at all inclusive resort before, and my biggest thing is I am definitely a foodie and love good food. That being said, I'm going to go out and say it, none of the restaurants food was amazing. Good, maybe, but definitely not amazing. In fact the best food I ate the whole time I stayed here was the pizza at the bar by the main pool. A few good things. If you are staying here for longer than a few days, there are a lot of restaurants with a lot of different food choices to try. Next thing. All the drinks are extremely watered down. In fact you have to ask for a double every time you order to even tell there is actually alcohol in there. My favorite thing to do was order something such as a daquiri, then go to my room and use the tequila to make it a real drink. Since all bottles are included in the room, why not use them. This hotel is a short walk straight down the beach to downtown Puerto Morelos. I looked forward to leaving the resort to go eat some very good authentic Mexican food, and do some shopping. Also, there is a tour person at the hotel, who was awesome! You can book a tour right there and get private transportation from your hotel and back. In reality, if you want to just stay at the hotel the whole time, you can. There isn't any reason to have to leave. You can stay here a few weeks, never get bored, or run out of things to do. All this being said, the hotel is EXCELLENT! Wouldn't stay anywhere else. Love the hotel privacy not in the hotel zone

This place is only luxury if you think that Chili's is fine dining. The food is really bad (processed, frozen, bland - squeezy cheeze on a couple of dishes)!, and they serve it to you on plastic tables and chairs. The ambience of the place is like a shopping mall food court, or a small-town airport. Americans seemed to like the place, but it's very far from five star luxury in my opinion. The first room they gave us was an "ocean view" where you could barely see the ocean - what you could see was the stage which flashed strobe lights into the window and played thumping music. The next room was dirty and one day, after the cleaner had been, they left crisps all over the floor. The room is very cold to the point of being damp if you use the AC; if you leave the balcony open, the floor gets so wet it's a slipping hazard. They gave us a complementary massage but when we got there, there were no free rooms, so they had to set up outside on the terrace (!) which also meant we lost about 20 minutes from the massage. This place has loads of great reviews, which was not my experience AT ALL. I personally would advise you not to risk it with this place, because they offer NO REFUNDS. I've stayed at much, much nicer places in the area for the same price point.

All of the staff were very nice and helpful. The room and property were very clean and beautiful. The beach was kept immaculate. There were many good food options. Waiter service available in all parts of the resort was nice.

My wife and I went here for our honeymoon. From the moment we arrived we felt safe and welcomed to a special place. When we arrived at our room there was a streamer saying honeymooning on our door. There was a bottle of champagne with two glasses waiting for us in our room! We heard mixed reviews about all-inclusive hotels but from the very beginning we were impressed. The checkin process was smooth and we waited at the bar with a couple Paloma's while our bags were handled. Every bar made great cocktails and had awesome service You never had more than 100ft to walk for a drink. The six restaurants all had great food. The French Restaurant and the Mexican food were our two favorites... The turndown service made us feel special and we never had a mess in our room. 24 hour included room-service - what could be better! The spa experience was out of this world! Thank you for a great honeymoon experience!

Property and room were nice. Restaurants and food was below our expectations. Being a adult property we were expecting night club or late night entertainment, which was not there. During night beach side was dark and no activities. Christmas eve dinner and celebration were also below our expectations.

We have been to quite a few all-inclusives and this didn't disappoint. We did have a little trouble with the hot water in the shower, but the food was good, the grounds were immaculate, the setting and views were impressive, and the entertainment was really top-notch.

From the champagne greeting when we arrived at 10 pm to the 5 am farewell 4 days later, the service was outstanding-Every person was friendly, helpful, and ready to make our trip one to remember. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and fully stocked and the food was delicious. We will look forward to coming back next year.

Had a great experience. Staff was beyond nice. Food variety and quality was great and drinks were really good. Mobile app helped with exploring. Lots of events during the say too. Check in was a bit slow and too much paperwork, wish some of it was done online beforehand. Overall pretty happy

This property was amzing. From getting out the shuttle we were greeted with open arms. The staff are friendly and super helpful. I would definitely recommend this resort. Its beautiful the pictures does not do it justice. Entertainment every night was superb. Special shout out to Hugo,Maria,Rosa Maria they went extra going above and beyond to accommodate us.

Amazing staff….friendly and the service was over the top. I’ve been to at least 8 resorts over the years and hands down they the BEST live entertainment!!! The Live music at the pool and bands at night were awesome!! We will definitely be back next Christmas!!

We stayed in an Excellence club Jr Suite. The room was very nice. I did the pre check in which I think helped but it still took about 45 minutes to check in. About 1/2 hour to long in my opinion. All of the staff were very friendly, Amoble at the Excellence club pool is exceptional. Your drink will never be empty if she is your server. The bartender at the Excellence club pool was also great. We mostly stayed at the Excellence club pool during the day so not to sure about the daily activities at the main pool. The nightly shows were very good. My biggest complaint is that on the first morning I got up early to get a good spot at the pool, the concierge at the Excellence club pool told me you cannot save your spot if you leave your things unattended for more than an hour they would remove them. So the next day I wait until after breakfast to find a spot and there are no good spots left. Not many people around just personal items left to save a spot. Most spots had not been occupied in well over an hour. Now I get it they have a rule they just don't enforce it so for the rest of our trip I got up at 7am went down put to my things on a bed and over 1/2 of them were already saved and not many people around the pool until after 10am. I think not saving seats is a very good rule I hate seeing a good spot unoccupied for hours at a time, but if your going to have a rule enforce it. Overall we had a really great time

The service at the XRC was outstanding. Every person was friendly, helpful, and ready to make our trip one to remember. Rooms were extremely clean, comfortable and fully stocked. Food is amazing. We’ve stayed here multiple times and this place is consistently fantastic! I would definitely recommend this resort. We look forward to coming back soon! Thank you XRC.

We chose this resort because of it’s excellent reviews and it did not disappoint!! Entertainment staff was so much fun and made my 40th birthday exceptional. Food was delicious and the grounds were impeccable! We will definitely stay there again and highly recommend it!

This property is beautiful. The lazy river and hot tubs were great. The hot tubs could have been 5 degrees hotter.

Great service and friendly staff. Always had a clean room and enjoyed the restaurants. Only disappointment was that the pools were not heated so we didn't spend much time swimming.

the property was clean and the personal very friendly, but the food for the most part was poor. The room service was far from a so called 5 star hotel, the was plain and they always forget somethings. The drinks are never the same, they don't follow any recipe or measurements. It is a beautiful property but many things can be improved.

Stayed for 8 nights, and great all around resort! Clean throughout, extremely friendly staff, lots of amenities and entertainment, and the foods/drinks were excellent! Went to the spa twice because it was so good, and the beach team was working around the clock to keep it clean! Would definitely return here or one of the other Excellence resorts based one experiences!

Loved the food, pools, service, entertainment, and options on where to spend your day on the property. The only small negative was the seaweed in water and on the beach. However, the hotel staff did their best to keep clean.

The staff makes this resort. They are always willing to go above and beyond. The rooms and pools are very nice and well kept. The variety of restaurants is nice thou I found the food average not much seasoning. If your looking for a beach vacation or party spot this isn’t the place. The water is mucky and lots of seaweed which the staff does their best to keep the beach clean. Also the shows end at 11pm. Some nights the sports bar is open a couple more hours but there not a night life scene here. If you love being pampered, scheduled activities which the activities staff is FABULOUS and so fun and friendly especially Gonzalo and Ladee. It a very relaxing resort.

Our rooms plunge pool was FREEZING. Hot tub jets were out of service causing the hot tubs to be cold and heated water not filtered. Concrete on pools being drilled through to repair two main pools. Room service came by at all hours of the day to check in. I appreciate this but we are on our honeymoon. Didn’t have a do not disturb sign to put on the door, maid service entered at a very inconvenient time. Everyday we came back to the room after excursions the room was still dirty. Weather was terrible. Only 1/2 of hydrotherapy stations were functioning. We truly enjoyed ourselves here during our first visit in 2018, decided to come back for 3 days on our honeymoon and probably won’t return. Overall bad experience which is unfortunate. We love this resort, however, not being able to get into any body of water (bc of temperature) due to bad weather when there is nothing else to do is frustrating. Not a good honeymoon :(

The property was very nice but the staff is what makes it excellent. It started on our arrival which was very early in the morning. Check in wasnt til 3pm but we were provided a room shortly after our arrival and the excellent service continued throughout by the cleaning staff, hostesses at restaurants, waiters, bartenders and everyone we came in contact with. We booked massages at the spa and the staff there was a delight. Can say enough about the service and the pleasantness in which it is provided. There was a female employee that worked all day clearing the seaweed from the beach and she also greeted us with a smile and hello 😊

I just got back from a 5 day stay at the excellence and can only say good things. The staff was attentive and helpful. The resort was stunning. They offer nothing but the best. I would recommend staying here and would go back.

Awesome time. Make sure you have a copy of your COVID test from the resort when going to the airport. We received our test results two hours after our plane took off. Mistakes do happen.

Loved everything about this resort, the only complaint was the beach and water were not as nice as the pictures look. It was not very swim friendly, strong current and full of seaweed

we were a group of 9 people which booked this hotel for a much needed vacation after almost 2 years of not traveling due to pandemic, all of us are doctors and scientists in the front line of the pandemic war. Upon check in they informed us that the minimum age is increased from 16 to 18 for this hotel. However at the time we reserved the hotel and paid for it, there was no problem at all. All of our group were 50 and older with just one kid, being 17years and 11 months. There was no problem with the hotel management when we booked the trip and provided the date of births for everyone. This definitely was not our mistake but their change of policy. They did acknowledge their mistake but didn't take any responsibility for that! There was no compensation for our time and money. After 4 hrs of pointless discussion, they transferred our entire group to another resort 50 min away and not in the same class that we paid for. Their customer service was awful. We could have find another resort that we would like if we knew they changed their policy. The new resort was not up to our standards and we were forced to move there. They didn't agree to pay us back so we can go another resort we would like. These people have no idea what customer service is. There should be consequences for the mistake they made but there was none and they forced us to move into a place we didn't want to. Stay away from this resort, they have no regards for people. Time for management to change!
