This was our second year at Marina. We went back because the price was right and we had such a great time last year. The resort itself is absolutely beautiful and very well-maintained. The kids pool is fantastic! The food is pretty good for an all inclusive resort, But it is difficult to make reservations at reasonable dinner hours. The service cannot be beat. Every single person was warm and friendly and very accommodating.

Not as good as previous visits. Pool service was lacking and maid service was not good. Had to track the maid down to get towels, lotion, glasses, etc. Restaurants were good except for the French. My steak there was gray on one side and tough. Couldn't eat.

All the staff were amazing, friendly, respectful and approachable. Outstanding customer service . They worked as a team. Very impressive to watch. The property was well maintained. My only draw back was sometimes the buffet options were salty but everything else was amazing. I travelled solo and I felt so safe and well looked after. Restaurant Kobo was my favourite. I went twice and the chef i had was very kind funny and accommodating I just got got his name. I will definitely add bud photo. German did a great job of explaining everything when I arrived. Huge property so I got lost a bit but there was always a golf cart ir a staff member around to get around. The Dolphin swim and the Catamaran Snorkellibg experience were both great. Hector and the Pronatour team did a great job setting up my transport and tours. I appreciate everyone at the El CID property. My stay at Hotel Marina was memorable … I’ll be back. Xoxo

The sat was good, had some good experiences but on our last day there we found that someone had robbed us. We were on an all day tour (7 am - 9 pm) upon returning we found that my daughters AirPod pros were missing. Used “Find My app” and saw that they were located in Cancun. The next morning found other missing items, perfume , makeup, and after arriving home today found that our Canon DSLR camera was stolen from the camera case. I expected that a resort would have more trustworthy staff. We filed a report with the hotel security, but now I need to add the camera which I just found out about today.

This is a very relaxing place for family or just to go alone. I always feel so face and welcome there. The o oh bad thing is the beach of so full of seaweed and it so far from shopping but I definitely recommend 10/10. I will continue to go there as long as I need a relaxing getaway. The food options are abundant. The shows are spectacular. There are lots of pools. This is all In all a great place I don’t have any complaints.

Pool areas were lovely and had great service. We spent our days at the infinity pool. The beach and water were not great which was disappointing. Lots of options for lunch and dinner but they made getting reservations very challenging.

Pros: great service, very responsive staff. Tons of activities and entertainment for the kids, great nightly shows. Cons: the beach is terrible. There's essentially no beach. There are multiple horizontal rocks/dividers in the water so there's nowhere to swim except for the pools. We ended up going to another hotel to swim in the water. Another issue is the food. Food quality is pretty mediocre in the majority of the restaurants. There's one good place to eat but it's only open for lunch. For dinner you have to make a reservation in advance, otherwise, you are left to eat at a pretty bar evening buffet. But the reservations fill up very quickly. There were a few days when we were not able to make one so we ate room service

We have been to Marina El Cid twice now. Once with our family, and once with a 30 multi family group. Both were fantastic. The dining options are great. You are able to make one reservation before arriving and then two a day thereafter. The properties are meticulously kept and the grounds are lush and beautiful. The staff works very hard to ensure guests have a good time. We will be back!

This is a beautiful property with very attentive staff that are always maintaining the grounds and buildings. Food was very good - best beef I have had in Mexico! Pool was lovely and our room was extremely comfortable. I feel they could use more signage to direct people to the restaurants and other buildings, the spa seemed priced on the high end (I have been to quite a few resorts and this was the highest I have ever seen). Also, the beach is not the best but I feel that is mostly the result of too many storms - cannot control that! We enjoyed our restful and relaxing trip here immensely.

This resort is vast and has a very nice and fun kids pool area with a cliff jump and slides, a quiet adult pool area, and multiple infinity pools, the food is good to very good at times and lunch and breakfast locations are easy to access. The adult drinks were mixed well and the service pleasant. The rooms were mostly clean and housekeeping was prompt as was room service. What wasn’t great was the buffet service had plates that were clearly run though a dishwasher but not clean, which was a big turn off, some of the staff appeared less than enthused at times, while others were very pleasant. You only get two WiFi codes included in your all inclusive package so if you have more devices expect a $60 bump per device to use WiFi for a week. Also, expect the restaurants to offer other food for an additional price, such as lobster at the seafood restaurant for a $60 fee, but the included menu is very good and adequate. The beach area was disappointing and horrendous for swimming as they have huge cement bags every twenty yards to block seaweed infestation or erosion. We had to go into town to the public beach for family beach time, where we had great ocean swimming and snorkeling and great food at “Dons”. The town was fantastic and we felt safe walking around and sampling the local cuisine. Overall we had a positive experience minus the unclean dishware, the not swimable resort beach, and the unexpected bump in price to all use WiFi.

The resort was just what I expected it to be. The property and the room are well maintained and clean. There are plenty of restaurants, including buffets for breakfast, a few places that had buffets for lunch, or a local little coffee shop that had sandwiches that you could just take with you. There are plenty of restaurants on site, and we had absolutely no issues getting reservations for any of them. You can book one reservation before you even arrive. Then when you arrive, you will be able to make two more reservations and then the next day you can make two more reservations as well. We ate it all the restaurants and the food was delicious. There are plenty of pools. If you stay on the Marina side, you’re going to need to get up early to get a place at the pool because people reserve their seats very early, but there are plenty of chairs at Ventus or in other areas. A huge shout out to Brigitte at the concierge desk. She knew I was very concerned about getting distilled water for my husband‘s CPAP machine, and she went out of her way to make that happen for us. She texted me the day before we arrived to let me know when I would be able to pick it up. We met her at the table and paid the fee for the pharmacy and then we had the distilled water for his machine very soon after.

Beautiful, great pool. Need more options for dinner that aren't "reservation only", and many better kids meal options as well. The great shows at night were hard to attend when your dinner reservations had to be late (we wanted earlier, could only get what was available 2 days in advance). The attempts to upsell/ listen to presentations are annoying and need to stop. Also staff walking around offering expensive spa services. The golf carts to drive you around are spectacular, when they show up. Drivers are polite. The resident cat was a lifesaver for those missing their pets at home. Feed that cat and give it lots of love!!

Excellent accomodation, clean and plenty to do around resort. Lots of food and pool options. $600 resort credit was useless and not a general credit but instead small amounts for specific services-none of which were of interest to us. Wifi available for daily charge-best to buy an esim.

The resort is lovely--beautifully upkept grounds. At first, it feels vast, but as you get to know it, it's all very walkable. Multiple pools/hot tubs available, but as always, you have to play "the towel game" to get a seat. Food is fine - on par with all the other resorts. Kobo, which requires a reservation, was great! Service throughout the resort is great - friendly, attentive staff. Pool and nighttime entertainment was good as well. Couple areas of "opportunity": it was hard to figure out which restaurants were open for each meal, as it changes daily - it would be nice if you received a list of restaurants with a checklist that included the day of the week, meals available, reservation needed or not. Only other minor complaint was the shower: having a handheld shower head only, coupled with low water pressure and limited hot water, made for poor showering. Overall, however, we enjoyed our stay and would definitely return!

Internet is very slow and they give you only wireless access for 2 device. For all other devices you need internet , you need to pay for it around $ 50-100. Also not everything is all inclusive. food is inclusive but Massage, spa, all other stuff you need to pay for it and its more expensive than Ny.

The swimming pools and beach views are really good. However, one of the rooms we were given had a specific wet/damp odour to it. The staff just tried to reduce it by putting a humidifier. The other 2 rooms were good. Also, the Ventura Ha main lobby is nice, El Cid main lobby not so much. Limited staff and golf carts for transportation between lobbies. Unless you are a premium member, you won’t get reservations at the restaurants. We were able to get dinner reservations only for 2 days out of 6. Most ridiculous thing is only 2 devices per room can connect to WiFi. Third device is $60. With kids having iPads and phones it’s impossible to limit only to 2 devices. Would not stay here again.

Amazing staff. They go over the top to keep the property clean and in good repair. Food options were always similar but different enough to keep things interesting for the week. Pools are all fantastic with completely different atmosphere at each one. The beach is clean but the need for the sand bags is unfortunate. Would recommend choosing El Cid.

This is my fifth trip to Mexico and by far the worst! Hotel is advertised as an all inclusive with 5 restaurants… what they don’t tell you is that they make almost impossible to make a reservation (yes you have to have a reservation to dine in the restaurants). We were told there no vacancies in the restaraunts. When my husband and I were able to get reservations (after I became very upset) we found the restaraunts half empty !!! They advertise “butlers” for an additional $100/day “to help” with these reservations! They also limited internet use to 2 devices .. than you had to pay for additional devices! The staff wasn’t very friendly .. entertainment was very limited and poorly organized. Little to no beaches and limited umbrellas available by the pools. La marina was the best restaurant we ate at.
