Felt very cheap the entire time. Service is unattentive and slow. If food is an important aspect of your vacation, skip this resort. The beach is not great. They ran out of towels by 10am. Shows are lacking. Wouldnt go again.

The property was smaller but quaint. We felt safe at the resort traveling with our daughters for this vacation. Most all of the staff were friendly but the folks running the “Walmart” in the front of the resort were too pushy to even look at anything which was terrible. The food was average at the buffet and restaurants as well as the drinks. There were a few items that were great but mostly average. The gym had enough equipment to get in a good workout. The entertainment staff were great and we had fun doing activities. Overall we give it an average rating.

When I arrived I was in shock..I literally thought I was at the wrong place. Didn’t look anything like the photos on Expedia. Only 1 restaurant open besides the buffet, not 4 or 5 as advertised and 2 of them aren’t even apart of the all inclusive you have to pay to eat there. The 1 restaurant had basically the same food as the buffet. The beach bar is open anytime but is gross. The bed was awful, my back was killing me from the springs in the bed. The front desk was rude.I would never go back here. Even if I got an upgraded room …Lifestyle/Cofresi, Senator are wayyyyy better

The staff is great, the pool is great. The buffet serves the same every other day, so if you don't like it there's not much of an option. The salad is very lacking and the vegetables are often from a can. Entertainment was lacking. Waiting for Zumba classes that didn't happen. Definitely not the best value all-inclusive. The rules say not to reserve pool or beach chairs and yet they're always being reserved anyway. Only 5 people in the pool and yet all chairs already have towels. You have to wait in line before 8am for about 30 minutes each day to reserve a restaurant if you want to enjoy decent meal. Not able to sleep in on vacation. So, it's a pretty location for a so-so price.

Ok, what lower cost. Service ok - difficult getting water at meals. Cost for in room safe (very unusual and crazy). Cost for 2 of the restaurants- should be included. Slightly disappointed.

The hotel is outdated. We arrived and was sent to the VIP lounge, great! There VIP service was not my idea of VIP. I requested two wheelchair accessible rooms and was assigned rooms on the third floor. We had to wait to have one on the rooms change. The pool is not accessible for people with a disability. The food was not much of a variety, but pretty good.’There are cats throughout the restaurant area, they creep in and out while you are eating. I made an appointment for one of the restaurant, when appeared my name was not listed. The service attendants should be bilingual to better assist the customers. While at the pool area, I left two towels to secure our beach chairs, when returned , one towel was removed from the chair/. I tried to replace the towel and was told it will be sent to my room. The next day I noticed there was a towel center right by the pool. No one ever directed me or said the place was there. I had to return yo my room to get the towel. We played bingo by the poolside and the guy calling the numbers was calling out the wrong number in English. My friend joined and booked a room for two nights. We occupied three VIP rooms and each room was different. We had missing items in each room, as discribe in the VIP package.

There were some issues. There was a ceiling leak right when you enter the room which came from the air conditioner. Bathtub had hair in it on arrival day. The rooms were old and dated but that was not a problem because we spent most our time out of the room however, I reported the issues to the front desk and they said they would send someone on both occasions but no one came by. The food was not great but not awful. Theme restaurants were better but just average tasting. I would not recommend or return to this resort.

If your young with a body or a “bbl” please don’t stay here I had on my bikini at the pool “ adults only “ and was constantly told what I had on was inappropriate … when I would see females weighing 300 with a bikini and no issue it’s not worth it don’t come here and the food is nasty they are SO RUDE !

The pool was pretty. The beach beds and chairs were in poor condition. The property is lacking in entertainment and the one show we saw was a joke. The food was absolutely horrible. Only ate because needed fuel. Did not look forward to ANY of the meals. The food was actually quite nasty. The Brazilian restaurant meat was good but the rest of the buffet in the Brazilian was gross just like all other food options. This place was nothing exciting. We were in building 2 and the music by the pool was so loud couldn’t nap or go to bed before midnight due to the noise level. We were here 3 nights and felt like an eternity. Very disappointing and to me not a place to go on vacation. Would never go back.

We had an exceptional stay. Though the resort itself is older, it was very clean and comfortable. The staff made us feel like we were family. The food was very good. The only thing missing was a coffee station with a barista. However, we were able to make our own cappuccino with a self serve machine.

the room itself wasn’t the best, the shower head broke on the first night, bed sheets weren’t changed once, we had a reservation for 3 but only got accommodated for 2 and had to constantly ask for the 3rd of things; food was very good in all restaurants and buffets, and the amazing staff made our experience way better. shout out to super joe

Well is my 3rd trip going to this hotel, i believe this hotel was sold or something because name is changed and is pretty quite compare to my previous trip, animation is pretty much not existing during the day around the pool and i remember in the past they used to dance around the pool and was really fun. At night time they have shows but again not compare like the past. Something i want to note on this review for whoever that read it that belongs to that hotel is that is a lot opportunities for the kids club, i went with my daughter and i took her to the club, the girl in charge is amazing and caring, the place has a small pool for kids, trampolin, small tables, tv like the club has a lot of things but there is not material to work, like not a single crayon for the kids to do a drawing, or to do activies while they are there. That club needs somone above the girl that take care of this simple things so that club can run smooth. Needs schedule structure. My daughter wanted to be there but there was not a single paper so she can color or anything. The food is alright not amazing. Also at the time they gave me the room, i was supposed to be vip and a lot of perks were supposed to be added. Wich when we got to the room we didnt have like extra stuff, welcome drinks nothing we have to call and everyday they were putting something from the list.

We LOVED our time at Be Live Marien Puerto Plata! The staff were all so friendly from the maids to the bartenders to the front desk. The restaurants were incredible with lots of variety and high quality dishes. The beach was beautiful with lots of space to go for long walks. The rooms were clean and seemed to be newly renovated. We also went on an amazing excursion to a nearby waterfall where we jumped and slid down many different waterfalls - it was very exciting! We had such a great trip and are looking forward to coming back.

Have grate time stuff very friendly. We have vip room but in my opinion rooms need good renovation

The property lost a star for not having ac in the lobby or buffet area was hard to stay in these areas in steamy condition Noisy local kids and locals filling the pools, if you’re coming here to relax this resort is not for you. Super slow free wifi causing constant lost signals and too slow for any site pages to load up, they need to provide a better wi-fi experience If you are American or Canadian, they treat you differently than the locals. The rooms are nothing special and need an upgrade (cold water, water leaking in the bathroom, bathroom door did not lock) Room service was another issue, one day we had no blanket, the other they forgot to give us towels and another day they forgot to give us water. We left tip at the beginning of our stay (in the fridge as well), but had to stop because our room was always missing something, they didn’t even stock our fridge twice …. Food and service everyday was subpar.
