Hotel with nice staff and close to beach

Posted Jul 17, 2017
Check in and check out were fast. The beach is beautiful. Food was decent, but nothing to brag about. Drinks were ok. Air conditioning in the room could have been stronger considering the hot weather. A lot of the rooms were under construction which is good since a lot of the resort looks dated. The hotel staff made our stay pleasant since they were really friendly and helpful whenever something was needed.

Horrible hotel!!!!!!!!!! Do not waste your money!

Posted Jun 24, 2017
I, very often go on vacation with my family. Never have I ever gotten to a hotel with such terrible service! First, we got there and had to beg the front desk to let us make a reservation for the restaurant according to them they didn't know if they had spots left (mind you when we got there it was almost empty, maybe 3 families in there.) My family and I arrived in the room to find out that the door did not lock our room. we had to wait like 40 minutes for someone to come and fix it instead of giving us a different room since the whole place had maybe like 10 families in there. The toilet was completely clogged and stinking up the room. The remote control did not work. The staff were horrible. It was like we were bothering them to serve us. Not one of the waitressing staff was polite or attentive, they would not even say hi. The food was disgusting. It tasted like old, refrigerated for a couple of days kind of food. At night, we put a little speaker with our music next to one of the bars and the manager came and called security to ask us to turn it off very rudely. It wasn't even loud or bothering anyone around as we had asked the family that was near us. This place is ready to close down because of the poor management it's receiving, starting with the staff, the food and the fact that in that place there was only about 10 families is deff a red flag! Dominican Republic has the best resorts I've been to, this one being the EXCEPTION!

Not staying here again.

Customer service is very detached not willing to satisfy needs of the guest, they need to understand that nor every situation is the same. All I kept hearing we can't do that is against regulations even when the situation was needed at the time. Again not willing to help.

The hotel dis not have that much of a variety of food. If youre Dominican you will not get good service from staff. You even get kind of ignored a little. I just didn like the time i spent there because of the staff, even at the restaurant we didnt even get noticed for a while. And they even talk back at you. Wont recommend this resort at all. Beautiful but won't recomend

Staff is overworked.

Posted Mar 27, 2017
Pros: Convenient location
Cons: Hotel is short staffed, so the service is terrible in spite of some very hardworking people. Specialty restaurant reservation line is a bad joke.
Location: Convenient to Sosua Beach
A nasty woman at the front desk was determined that I was not going to be happy no matter what. Thankfully the gracious manager accommodated me despite the nasty woman arguing with him fiercely.

A place to relax!!

Food was great, friendly staff, shows are entertaining, clean rooms, the safe deposit box is too old, wasn't working though, it looked like it's been like that for a while now and nobody notice or do something about it, the dance club could be better it looks too old fashioned but the dj plays great music, the pools make it up for it since they are wide, clean and great. Definitely coming back.

Enjoyable stay

Posted Mar 19, 2017
Pros: Location, grounds, access to beach, beautiful views.
Cons: Upgrading rooms, better variety of food, restaurants reservation
Location: Snorkeling, scuba diving, local park, restaurants, town activities.
Front desk efficient- check in less than 5 min. Hotel staff was nice, helpful. Rooms need upgrading, but clean enough; shower didn't have enough pressure, the pilot for tv didn't work (and we exchanged 2x), but not a big deal since our family spent most of days outside. I would suggest to leave small tips for maid- we always had enough towels, and room was clean nicely. Wi-Fi- you have to pay for that. Food was ok, but always could find something. You have to make reservations for restaurants between 9:30 and 11:30 (you can make your reservations for entire stay at the same time). The only thing, you have to wait in long line (longer than 1 hour) if you come right at the 9:30; if you come at 11- almost no line, but all reservations are gone. We were staying Sat-Fri, and went to make reservations on Sunday, and couldn't get anything until Tuesday. The hotel grounds are really nicely kept, there are 2 pools, 3 Jacuzzis, access to 2 beaches (good sizes). Water is often rough (only 2 days with green flag during 6 days stay). You can kayak for free and buy snorkeling, banana boat, scuba diving trips. However if you go to main Sosua Beach (15 min walk), you can get better deal. At the hotel we would pay $30/ person/ 1 hour/ 1 reef of snorkeling. At the beach we got $20/ person/ 2 hours/ 2 reefs on private tour (we can recommend local guy- Lobo). Also, if you want some authentic Dominican food, beach is your place to go, and you can bargain regardless menu price.
