Nice resort to vacation with family

Pros: Friendly staff, the amenoties, the lighting in the garden at night. They send my wife a birthday cake and flowers on her B-Day. The star band.
Cons: Vissible driks name and description and more variety.
I don't agree with the overall mantainence of the resort. The food is exposed to insects and birds. The pool doesn't have the adecuate care. Mosquitoes and flies are out of control.

Nice family vacation.

We enjoyed our stay at the Iberostar. Clean beach, good drinks, well kept rooms, nicely kept property. The resort peacocks, flamingoes and family of cats were also a pleasant surprise. The staff was very courteous. Performances were good to keep you entertained, live bands were great. There was an abundance and variety of foods but the meats at the brazilian restaurant were past well done and unedible.

Beautiful grounds

The hotel is located on beautiful grounds. Ocean front room was clean with gorgeous view. The staff at the buffet and restaurants were excelllent. Our consierge "Manuel" was just great. He was very caring, pleasant personality, helpful, and sincere. YOU ROCK Manuel.

Iberostar the best choice in Puerto Plata

Pros: I liked that from all the resorts in Puerto Plata it remains better than the rest
Cons: rooms, TV, mini bar
Location: that was excelent
I was bored the second day and wanted to go home. The food was ok but not what we expected.

Overrated

It was our first time at the Resort and we had to wait more than 10 minutes because the receptionists were busy "gossiping" and ignored us. When we got to the room, the room didn't smell so great (humid/wet smell). The following day didn't get any better as we were asked to listen to a presentation about becoming members with no "obligation". The manager at the membership place was very unprofessional. The goal is to sell but there's a fine line between doing his job and being straight disrespectful. Don't waste your time listening to their 90 minutes presentation because the moment you say you are not interested their whole demeanor changes. However, not everything was bad, Luis Alberto Tavarez en el Mercado was excellent and very polite and all the other waiters were really nice too. The food at their themed restaurants was excellent. But I can't say the same for el bohio, while eating there I had an unfortunate experience, the pizza I was eating (I only eat the cheese, not very fond of the dough) had a cockroach. We went to the employees and explained what happened, so they could be more careful with the food. That didn't go so well, as they implied that my mom had put the roach there and that it was a bee instead. I went straight to the customer service rep, and explained the situation and how the employees reacted, but nothing happened not even an apology, which let me know that they didn't take the issue as serious. We won't be going back, the resort is just overrated

Regarding the presentation of The Club, the situation presented does not characterize us and it is not the norm. Our guests are our top priority. We are terribly sorry if Adan did not meet the high standards you deserve. As for the situation with the Pizza, we deeply apologize for the lack of service received after reporting what happened. Our hotel has a department that is responsible for the quality and hygiene of our products to be consumed by our customers; however, we take our guest comments very serious and this is why our management is already informed of these situations which will be immediately verified and corrected. Finally, you do not imagine the joy you bring to us by writing that not everything was negative and Luis Alberto Tavares and the others waiters gave you a perfect service and also that the food in some of the restaurants was excellent. This make us feel a bit better after reading so many negative. Once again, please accept our apologies and if you decide to give us another chance our doors will be wide open for you. Best hotel for the price

Pros: Everything
Cons: Pool can be a little more clean and also need outlets near bed for charging cellphones.
Location: Love the location having a night club and casino nearby
Loved this place so much that we returned. Everything was a plus for a group of us. 3 Years ago we had such a good time that we decided to do it again.

Beautiful hotel

This resort is very nice. The staff is very friendly. The night shows are amazing. I have visited many resorts in the Dominican Republic and this resort stands out from many resorts as they have a 24 hour restaurant. One of the disappointments was the beach, the beaches in punta Cana and Juan dolio are much cleaner and nicer. I am looking forward on booking at this resort in punta Cana in the near future.

Staying at Ibero Star PP

Pros: Locations, Staff, the restaurants and the food variety.
Cons: The colors and landscaping. Vivrant colors and a more elaborated and colorful landscape will make the experience more appealing to the eyes.

Horrible service

The hotel itself was nice, but everything else was Horrible! The rooms were dirty and far from pool, beach, lobby, and food. No elevators with a third floor walk up. The beach was dirty, from the water to the sand. Utensils, plates, and tables consistently dirty. The service staff was horrible!!!! I actually had most of the wait staff ask to try the wine I purchased. They drink half the bottle. I never in my life experienced this. I spoke with another guest who had the same issue. I paid for wine in which I didn't get to enjoy, but the restaurant staff did, and I left a tip. Felt like I was taken to the cleaners!!!! Won't go back even if it was given for free!
