apts are basic and tired however location is best in puerto rico and HEATED pool is a fantastic bonus was there 24/3/2019 would be my 1st choice for next year winter break

There are cockroaches everywhere. Several were inside our room and we had to change rooms 3 Times. Their excuse was that the hallways are outside but I have stayed in many hotels with floorplans similar to this and I’ve never seen roaches outside let alone inside the room! When they switched our room the first night they put us in a standard room even though we paid for a superior and they made up for the downgrade and the roaches with a coffee... that doesn’t quite cut it.

Ok so it’s not 5 star but for what I paid I was very happy with my stay, was amazing value for money, the man on the reception was very friendly, professional and helpful. The woman at the pool bar was amazing so was super friendly and seemed to enjoy her job, had a couple of lovely meals there. Had a lovely sea view from the apartment with a huge balcony. Apartment was basic and sunbeds round the pool are not the best but again for the price paid very happy with my stay, cleaners came every day and pool bar was open every day from 9am and closed 5pm Monday and Friday but open till 8pm the other days. The walk up from the stunning beach is a killer but less than €3 for a taxi if needed and good exercise saw lots of people run up it. It was peaceful and just what i wanted and would happily stay again.

Bar was nice but pool area and pool dirty lots tiles missing furniture broken Cracked sockets holes in walls dirty walls Not be back And slope very steep up and down from reception had be carefull as easy slip

great views on the balcony, on site swimming pool and shop. not all rooms have sun loungers - needed to pay extra. had to pay extra to have wi-fi inside room per device. in all it was affordable and i might return in future

Basic but clean
Popular with the Spanish, be prepared to get lots of taxis to beach and shops, foul smell for 2 days coming from side of hotel. Hotel grounds are very unkempt and lots of lounges are broke. Little pool bar nice but closes early, reception was friendly and helpful More shops and restaurants 10 minutes walk up the hill, very annoying men trying to get you in their restraunt and getting abusive if you dont go in. For the price it was ok but would want aircon on next holl.

Okay for the price
Staff are very helpful and friendly. Views are amazing and the pool is warm, this is needed on some colder evenings. The rooms are basic; no AC, no soap, coffee, etc. But, they are cleaned regulary. There's no "do not disturb" sign so expect cleaners to come in whilst your in a hungover state on the sofa :/ I'd stay again though.

I arrived on a late flight so reception was closed,but my key was left out for room 801 . Spent the night in room 801 ,it was musty smelly and dirty.The only thing that was clean was the bed.Next morning we went to reception and spoke to a nice young man who moved us to an apartment by the pool,it was a lovely location but once again it was not much better.No smell but the cleanliness was much the same .Its outdated and needs an overhaul pronto.

great apartments for price
This is the second time I have stayed here and again no problems. The rooms are basic but clean. The staff are friendly and the view from room amazing. The pool is heated which I like. The hotel is cheap so do not give it bad marks after what you pay. If you want 5 star then pay 5 star prices. I will definitely be returning to Palmerama past.

What can I say the island is a good place to recreation it's a very nice place ,going to the beach ,the price they are good you can eat one meal depends between 10 € and 17€ which is not to bad if you have kids it's not a good choice this hotel Palmera Mar it's up to the mountain and you need to take the taxi or you need to have a rent a car if you want to at the beach the Europe Center is very close and they have a lot of restaurants

Basic, but beautiful situation - I would return
Although the apartments are tired looking and in need of a spruce up, the situation of them is simply breath-taking - waking up to a real life postcard every morning when you look from your balcony, cannot be beaten. I'm sure there are plenty of just as beautiful situations, in terms of value for money - you can't beat it. The apartments could of done with a few more utensils and having even a bottle of water in the fridge as a welcome would of been nice - especially when arriving at 2300 having been travelling all day. The staff were very helpful and friendly - I would advise not to pay for the wifi here as it was very temperamental and instead use the free wifi in every restaurant and by the beach. Plenty of places to eat to suit all tastes within walking distance and worth hiring a car for a few days to travel up into the mountains and to Puerto Mogan - if I were looking for a cheap, basic, beautiful holiday - I would return here.

Good apartments
The apartment was adequate for our needs. Microwave, toaster and kettle were all provided. Cooker and fridge also. Only used for breakfasts as we eat out every night.

Checked in within 5 min, girl at reception very pleasant, as she was throughout our 10 day stay. Payed extra when booking for deluxe room but only difference appeared to be 2 loungers on the balcony. Stayed on the 7th of 8 floors same level as reception so no stairs or lift to deal with. Pool area very nice with heated pool which was great in November, not sure if all year round. Room pretty basic but perfectly adequate as didn't spend much time there, balcony good size approx 6m x 3m with sun from approx 12:30. Room cleaned probably 5 days in 7. Enjoyed our stay, apartments pretty good but wouldn't recommend for anyone with mobility issues.

The whole experience was very enjoyable. We are fit, good walkers and could get to restaurants and shopping without too much trouble. If necessary we made use of the plentiful taxis around.

When economy means 'economical'
Dont get me wrong we have just returned from a lovely 11 night stay here but when we first arrived we were given room 801. We didnt book 4* so weren't expecting it, but we were expecting basic standards of amenities and cleanliness. This room had a view of the path into the hotel, which we could have coped with since we didnt book seaview or anything but it had a funny smell, no shower curtain, the filthy brown toilet brush was actually laid in the bath and there was no loo roll at all. However we returned to reception, told told the very nice gentleman there about this and were given a new room without the tiniest bit of fuss, which was 108. This had everything we needed and a lovely view of Amadores. Would we go back? Yes of course next year probably!!!! but will remember a tea towel, if youre anything like me and like to dry your pots they dont provide them!!!

Brilliant views
The views from the balcony were amazing and lovely to sit outside for breakfast and in the evening to watch brilliant sunsets. Nothing was to much trouble for the reception staff who answered all our querys. I read reviews before hand and people complained about the accommodation what do people expect, for the money we paid we were more than happy and enjoyed our stay at palmeramar hotel.

Just what we needed
We booked the hotel largely because of it's elevated position in Amadores and therefore the views across the sea and they were magnificent. Built on 7 storeys with the (heated) pool at level 0 and reception at level 7, our room was on the 4th storey and the balcony looked out over the pool and beyond to the resort, the beach, the ocean and neighbouring island. The morning sun arrived at the pool and our balcony by about 1100hrs daily and stayed for the whole of the day culminating with a spectacular sunset. We stayed in Apr and the majority of other hotel guests were Scandinavian, all of the guests respected each other in respect that noise levels were low. The walk to Amadores beach took approx. 14mins (downhill) at a decent walking pace and about 20mins (uphill) back to the hotel - taxis to and from the beach were 4 to 5 Euro each way. The restaurant was excellent again with outstanding views from its own terrace. The food was pricey compared to other local cafes/bars but well worth it for both quality of food and service from the outstanding staff.

Really enjoyed my stay at this place. Location was amazing. Room was tidy and cleaned everyday upon ur request. Best break I've had in ages. The late check-in was excellent as not all apartments do that and also late checkout with a small fee to pay. Will definitely recommend this place for family trips

My wife and I had a relaxing 10 days at Palmeramar
We found the sea view room very comfortable. It was basic so don't expect luxury but we didn't have any reason to expect more from a very low budget. We were a little disappointed that the bar and restaurant were closed up for the duration of our stay, so a simple snack had to be cooked ourselves or a longish hill walk was required to find somewhere to eat. Also the wifi was not free and too expensive. We didn't spend our days here and preferred to head for a beach. The climb up and down to the local beach is not for the unfit. 10 minutes down and 20 minutes up or take a taxi. We preferred to walk and our calf muscles didn't ache after the first 8 days. Tip - on our last day we visited a hotel on the opposite side of the Valley - Altamadores. It's a fully inclusive but they serve non-residents. We had a 3 course lunch for 7 euros and we didn't have to put up with the sort of pestering you get everywhere by touts trying to get you in to their restaurants. There's entertainment in the evenings too. Really good place to visit. Palmeramar - well it was very clean but the hill walk is pretty exhausting. Mostly we noticed that the guests are young couples and we did have a very noisy couple screaming obscenities at each other which wasn't nice but they left after a few nights. I would recommend for middle aged and older. Good place for young couples. Not sure we would visit again although we wouldn't have had a holiday anywhere else at the price.

We go for the sunshine and we have several holidays per year we are realistic people and uderstand value for money we do not expect nor require 5 star accomodation for little money, this hotel in our opinion was excellent value for money and we have enjoyed our stay here, we have no complaints whatsoever,the outstanding feature is the restuarant at the top of the hotel which has a glass wall with a view to die for and reasonable prices.

Modern apartments with excellent sea view
It is a typical modern apartment hotel amongst a large complex of similar establishments. The situation is near the top of a very high cliff. It is a long way down to the beach and for us (octogenarians) it required a taxi to return (very frequent and cheap - under 3 euros). We had a spacious basically furnished apartment with a large balcony facing south overlooking the bay and the beach 200 feet below. Our terms were B&B and the breakfast was very good with ample choice. There are numerous beachside restaurants but apart from the hotel there are no other nearby dining opportunities. Wi-fi internet connection was very poor. All the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Comfortable stay with excellent staff and the cleaning staff were impeccable - even doing the washing up which we had overlooked! Apartments themselves were a home from home and couldn't expect any more. Only down side was that the reception area was shut between the times of 9pm and 9 am.

What a lovely holiday we had ! Nice appartment, big bathroom, comfy beds, huge terrace...We haven't been disappointed, at all. We ate once in the restaurant and it was lovely as well. Staff is helpful and cleaners are amazingly nice. Hotel located up the hill, so we used to take taxis back up for 2.50 Euros. But at least the hotel is very quiet. I definitely recommend this hotel, and October is the best time to go to Gran Canaria !

Stayed here for 2 nights while on route to my timeshare hotel basic but clean excellent value for money would not hesitate to recomend this hotel had a first floor pool view great will come back next year for a week prior to going to timeshare great for couples and single travellers only downside high on a hill but good exercise with stunning views

Clean budget hotel
We stayed for 5 nights in mid October here. My friend and I (female both age 28) fancied a wee get away from the kids and Scottish weather! Our room was clean and well enough equipped. We ate out so only used the kitchen for some small lunches or the odd midnight snack. Only downside was the beds, with a wee drink in us we slept fine but on the other nights I slept with my head at the foot of the bed (a bit on the springy side) the other end of the bed was fine though. I guess they dont flip the mattres so with all the weight at the one end all the time it's going to happen. We are quite small and had we been any bigger this might have been more of a problem. Lots of couples and groups from the uk who return to the hotel though. On both sides of our balcony the couples had returned several times. Pool was good and the wee shop was quite good too. There is a spar at the bottom of the hill which is well equipped too. 5/10 min walk away from the Europa center where there are plenty of bars/ restaurants. Down the hill (20min) is the beach quite a walk back up but it didn't bother us. There are taxis at the bottom of the hill which don't charge much to get back up the hill 2euro maybe. Overall we were happy it's not 4 star but if you want a wee budget holiday then I'd be happy to go back again :)

Great location overlooking the bay
Very good hotel for the price with a superb sea view from our 5th floor room . Nice pool with plenty of sunbeds but no parasols but some shade under the palm trees. Breakfast was a little limited in choice but fine to set you up for the day. 20 min walk down the hill to the beach & not to bad walking back up again but plenty of taxis avilable if needed . We had a holiday here.

Nice hotel
This hotel has a nice ocean-view. You can walk down to the beach in 20 minutes or take a cheap taxi. You can also take bus 91 to Las Palmas city in the north. The bus goes every hour and takes around one hour. I liked that the hotel is quiet at night! No disco, caraoke etc. You find this at the other hotels nearby if you wanna try it one night. They clean every day. Bring soap to clean your hands at the bathroom and soap and a brush to do the dishes.

I was a bit dissapointed with this complex .Ihad booked a double room.but it was more like a Studio.Very small ,no door on the bedroom.The only saving grace was the big balcony with table parasol and two sun beds.The pool was very clean and the apartment was spotless.Itook about fifteen minutes to walk down the hill to the beach and we got ataxi back up for 3euros. There was also a shortage of sunbeds by the pool especially at the weekends. The views from the balcony are amazing .Beautiful sunsets every night. Reception closes 1pm to 4pm and again at 8pm this is poor.Also the rooftop restaurant was closed the whole time The only food available was chips and sandwiches at the bar. luckily the Europa shopping centre is five minutes walk up the hill.

Fine view from a large terrace
It's a relatively long walk in steep hills to the center of Puerto Rico or the Amodora beach. Ok if you are sporty. No parasoll on the very sunny terrace, and one could not be hired! The beds are hard - you can feel the mattress springs. If you find it tireding to walk all the way down to have a dinner, you can eat on top of the hotel. Good restaurant with very clever personnel. You also find a good restaurant uphills to the left of "Euroshop".
