Not for the picky, good for the penny-wise....Posted Nov 17, 2015
Cons: General up date of the rooms/facility.
Location: Condado Beach, Plaza Antonia Q., Coffee Houses, Shopping, Casinos, Dinning.....
Casa Del Caribe is not for the delicate or faint of heart.....it covers your basics; place to sleep, shower, rest, and pastries/coffee in the morning to get your day going. House keeping is good, the lady came every morning to change the linens/towels and restocked the TP. Rooms and hallways are outdated and dark but we were not there for the facility views. Mosquitos were a big nuisance though that seemed to be the case everywhere on the island. Location is excellent, one block to Condado Beach, half block to a nice plaza and walking distance to great food, coffee houses, shopping, and two casinos......and the kicker was it's a lot cheaper than the big name places that are on the same street. The money we saved went along way towards dinners, souvenirs and gas since we rented a car and spent most of our week visiting other places on the island. In the end Casa del Caribe provided us with what we were looking for, basic accommodations at a good price in a great location.

Bad wifi / adverage everything else....Posted Nov 8, 2015
- Pro: Overall nice staff... Cleaning crew were always so kind and helpful. - Con: Wifi did NOT work in our room at all the whole trip and when we asked the front desk they answered "we have it mostly in the lobby to create a community." That was the most rediculouse excuse Ive heard. We paid for wifi and did not have it. - Con: "Continental breakfast" means bread, bread and more bread. Very limited breakfast options. After our "breakfast" everyday we had to go out for real breakfast. - Con: Cable did not work in our room for 3 of our days.

Power Outage during my stay - no real support.Posted Oct 26, 2015
Cons: Don't be cheap - offer a full refund if the power goes out. Your guests were clearly uncomfortable in their stay - make it right.
I missed my plane and needed to find a place for the night. Found Casa Del Caribe - a bed and breakfast. Wanted air conditioning for the hot night, a hot shower and wifi. At 9:30pm on the night of my stay there was a power outage. I lost all power (including air conditioning and fans, all outlets, hot water, wifi, etc.) for the rest of the night. There was also a power box right next to my room that was constantly beeping for a very long time. The manager came and told me there was a transformer that blew on the block - taking power out of all the hotel rooms. He was also working at the sister hotel - but there were no rooms available there. He offered to let me sit in the lobby until the power came back on. Fortunately I didn't - since I woke up at 7am and there was still no power. I wouldn't be writing this review if they'd fully refunded my money for the night. They offered 50% the next day. I didn't get to shower, I couldn't charge my devices for the plane or check in for my flight without wifi, there was no light in my room to even see what I was doing, and it was stuffy and hot the entire night. You can make your own decision on this hotel - based on my experience. But I won't be returning and I wouldn't recommend it.

Great location, clean & comfortable accommodationPosted Oct 6, 2015
Pros: Its so quaint and quiet. Free breakfast, clean rooms, free wifi. Its a little touch of paradise and in walking distance of great beaches and dining.
Cons: We did find a hugeeeee bug in the bathroom but that's to be expected in a tropical place and an older property. No big deal.
Location: Christopher told us about great beaches and dining options. We ate at several local Puerto Rican restaurants like Pinky's and Latin Star.
First off, I'd like to say the staff at the B&B is outstanding. Christopher quickly got us checked in, showed us the ropes and gave us recommendations for lunch spots and beaches within walking distance. On the second day of our stay, he gave us recommendations for the ports we'd be visiting on our cruise also. He also watched our baggage for hours after check out so we could enjoy San Juan before we boarded our cruise. He was really a star! The B&B is in awesome location, walking distance to many great restaurants, bars and beaches. The continental breakfast is basic-- coffee, juice, milk, cereal and local pastrys (so yummy!), but it does the trick for free. At the price, you can't go wrong. Its a very traditional, basic local B&B. Its not a luxury resort. There is no pool. The rooms are small and clean and comfy enough. The AC unit in the window is extra cold which is great. You can use the pools and hot tubs at their other hotels which are also walking distance and they provide beach towels for guests at the desk. Yes, it is an older property. No, it is not the Marriott. It is a charming little garden spot in an awesome location and a price you cannot beat in San Juan. The staff is lovely and we super enjoyed our two night stay there prior to our cruise ship leaving. Would definitely stay there again on our next visit!

not very goodPosted Oct 5, 2015
Cons: The breakfast.
Hollow doors. Metal key entry. Chipped paint all over the bathroom. A long hair on the the toilet tank. Wasn't ours. Very false advertising. A/C dripped in the room besides being very loud. The towel rack in the bathroom was ready to come off. Had to pay another hotel to park. Fortunately it was only one. Very poor accommodations.

Pros: Free Wifi and lemon water-nothing else. Continental breakfast very poor
Cons: The breakfast. get rid of this old fashion way of serving breakfast with plastics which have to be re used. Not very hygienic.
Location: very close to restaurants and bus stop
Was very disappointing. Manager sent us to the Canario which was a little better. There is a charge to use safe- we had to pay US$2.00 (ridiculous) Old man at front desk not hospitable. Taxi driver tried to reap us off. Hotel Receptionist told us a price when we got to the pier he wanted to charge us more. we forgot our umbrella on his cab which he did not return to the hotel even though we ask the reception guy to contact him. Not very helpful people and will not recommend to any body.

Good placePosted Sep 11, 2015
Because I arrive early the staff change me to their sister hotel Canario Boutique Hotel, and the experience was good enough. Don't expect deluxe just a nice place to arrive , let the luggage and sleep. It's an old fashion hotel but you feel comfortable. The staff is very helpful. The breakfast is basic but enough if you don't have much budget.

Horrible noise.Posted Aug 27, 2015 on Hotels
It was a nice stay, however, I couldn't really sleep due to a couple who were having intercourse. The woman was screaming like if she was getting killed. Horrible, people should be more mindful of their personal noise.
