Nice view, rooms were not clean

Posted May 22, 2017
Pros: Private Island and view
Cons: clean the pool and the hotel
I was expecting a lot more since this hotel is branded as a Waldorf Astoria. The bathrooms had dead bugs in them even after the cleaning crew came, the carpets were filthy, hallways were dirty. There was a clump of hair in the stairwell for our entire stay (5 days) The pool was FILTHY. Imagine not skimming a pool for a week straight. That is what you are swimming in at this pool.

Thank you for the feedback on your recent stay at the resort. We do appreciate you staying with us at El Conquistador and could probably direct you to some other options (Las Casitas Village) that may meet your needs and expectations. Thank you!

Beautiful resort

Posted Apr 26, 2017
I was pleasantly surprised by the changes done. I also vacationed at El Conquistador last year and the entertainment provided by the hotel has improved greatly. It was nice to be able to have a drink while watching your children at a close distance dancing. The staff was wonderful and always attentive. If you have small children this is definitively the place to stay.

Great location and plenty of activities for kids

Posted Apr 25, 2017
Lots to do on the site especially the Palomino Island trip and water park for kids. It would be great if the hotel staff have more details on the facilities and activities. We are left to figure it out on our own using all the material. Concierge could be more friendly as they seem overwhelmed with calls and are on phone all the time.

Nice hotel... Watch your kids

Pros: The location was beautiful. We thought our maid was excellent.
Cons: It would have been nice to have a more in depth introduction to the complex. It is huge and took a while to figure out where to go and how to get the
Location: The location was beautiful. We visited EL Yunque, the Rain Forest, and old San Juan and had a great time doing both. Old San Juan is beautiful.
We stayed at the Conquistador during spring break. Our first night there we were with our girls, one 15, one 16 and the adults ordered adult beverages. The girls ordered drinks as well and we told the bartender to be sure and make them virgin. The girls were like, no please put alcohol in them and we were very adamant that they not add alcohol to the minor's drinks. After some back and forth with the bartender saying, "are you sure they are not 18?", and our insisting that they weren't, we finally got our virgin drinks. Fast forward the the next few days, when I found out that the girls were ordering and be served alcoholic drinks a the various venues around the hotel campus. The girls are in trouble with me for asking for them, but I would have appreciated the hotel being a little more rigorous in asking for ID's. My girls do not look anywhere near 18. On a separate note, I understand paying for valet parking, but to have to pay to self park at a hotel, I think is crazy. This hotel was nice, but EVERYTHING costs extra.

Amazing views and tons of activities.

The water park and multiple pools were great but we really enjoyed all the activities on the island.
