Not worth the money

Posted Feb 23, 2017
Pros: High end details throughout the hotel make it visually appealing.
Cons: Do not open the hotel up to the public at the expense of the people paying over $400 a night.
Location: Very close to the airport, which is a plus. The community nearby is a mixed bag. Half of the properties are abandoned/under construction.
We booked this hotel because of the advertised casino and pool slide. However, when we got there, there was no casino and no slide in the pool. The hotel was under construction and much of it was inaccessible. And, our room was full of dust mites and our daughter had a full on allergic reaction that ruined our brief stay. Also, the toilet flush mechanism broke during our stay. I fixed it myself because I didn't want to have hotel staff in my room all night. One of the days we were there was Presidents Day, a holiday. The hotel pool area was full of "townies," who were loud, drunk, smoking marijuana and generally unpleasant to be around. It felt like a public beach in some corner of the island, not an exclusive resort. I specifically paid a high price to be secluded and relax.

Casino was closed. Dance club not open. Was made to enter a side entrance because I had flip flops on.
