Pros: Staff
Cons: Perhaps rooms can be updated.
Location: Beach, excellent and affordable restaurants nearby, casinos.
Excellent staff! Place is clean, easily accesible to food, stores and close to the beach! Loved their pool and facilities. Will recommend.

This is an excellent hotel. One block from the beach, nice pool in the back and so much to do here. Free breakfast, happy hour is great!! I here past reviews complain about the breakfast line but just like anything else,if you don't get there early there will be a wait. Not a complaint if mine! Very kid friendly hotel as well! I would stay here again and again!

Hotel is very clean, family oriented

Posted Aug 14, 2016
My family and I stayed here this week for 5 days. The hotel was clean, the staff was very friendly and the complementary breakfast served every morning was icing on the cake. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star was due to the hotel fees and parking fees that I felt were just extra charges to get more money out of you. Everything should be included when you book your hotel and parking should be free if your a guest at the hotel.

People are great and it was very nice that the hotel was walking distance to the beach. Room definitely in need of upgrades.

Nicely redone and short walk to beach

Posted Aug 9, 2016
Jose, who checked us in, couldn't have been more accommodating. We used this hotel to stay an extra night after our cruise. We arrived well before check-in, but Jose was able to help all 7 of us get into our rooms early. The hotel was super close to the highway and hotel, but I rarely heard noise from either. The pool was lovely, but a local radio station had their end of summer bash here and that was NOT good for paying hotel guests. Upset, we decided to take the 7 min walk to the beach. THAT was lovely. I had heard beaches in SJ were not good, but this one was very nice. The hotel has chairs and towels at the beach (ask for Angel). We got there mid day so we had to wait a bit for some people to leave in order to get chairs and an umbrella, but the kids loved the beach: waves, sun, breeze, not scorching hot like most beaches. Breakfast the next AM was very packed (although I don't think the hotel was). The cooked to order line was very long. Breakfast was disappointing after staying at some other ES and after coming off a cruise. The evening happy hour was also disappointing. There was just popcorn and chips, salsa, and ranch dip. The mixed drinks were basically mixes and the weakest I've had. The hotel's two restaurants had SLOW service and the food was average to below average. We ate lunch the next day at a little local place called Mi Casita (strip mall) and it was also not great. The location and beautiful rooms were a plus. Jose really was great and is an asset!

Good hotel close to beach.

Posted Aug 5, 2016
I took my 14 year old son to San Juan as a graduation gift. He loved the pool, exercise room, and game room. I loved the beach and it was a five minute walk from the hotel. The free continental breakfast was good. The waterfalls at the rainforest are beautiful. I also enjoyed Luquoia beach. The tour guide was good. I recommend the tours because they are educational and you will learn the history of Puerto Rico. The staff was friendly and the rooms were spacious. We also enjoyed the outback steakhouse inside the hotel. Overall, a very good hotel to stay at.

Family Place

Posted Aug 4, 2016
Pros: Everything
Cons: It's so close to the airport, it would have been nice if they offered a shuttle run.
Location: The beach is 3-5 min walk. Several fast food restaurants and a Walgressn's within walking distance. 1.5 mi to Airport $13 cab ride.
I love the Embassy Suites hotels and seek them out whenever I travel. The one in San Juan was more than I expected. From the lobby to the extra large water area, the casino, movie night, happy hour, breakfast, suites, atrium, etc just beautiful!!!! It is definitely a family place--not for couples. I treated my grown daughter to a celebratory vacation (b-day and college graduate). She enjoyed the R & R I wanted to tour San Juan which did not happen.n That's quite OK because my daughter and I spent a great deal of time just bonding. I my kids so much.

Very nice hotel!! Worth the money.

Posted Aug 3, 2016
Pros: More pros than cons! The pull out bed was comfortable for the kids to sleep on.
Cons: The king size bed was hard, but we managed. Maybe having a list of places, restaurants at check in would be nice since we had to hunt for good ones.
Location: The beach was close and there were a few restaurants we could walk to close to the beach.
We had a great stay at the Embassy Suites hotel. The breakfast was nicely put together! There was a line for the custom order portion but it flowed, which was great! Perfect for before outings. The beach area was nice. The staff was attentive and courteous. It rained one day we were there, they played a movie and accommodated the guests who were stuck inside. We would go back!

Some improvements on the hotel but ....

Posted Aug 1, 2016
Pros: Location and breakfast included.
Cons: Change pillows and mattresses again.
Location: Close to airport and The Mall of San Juan.
The hotel had some improvements since last time I was there but now the pillows and mattresses are harder. Due to this, did not get a good night sleep. On a separate note, don't visit the restaurant located next to the casino unless you like extreme salty food.
