Bring a loaded wallet

The majority of the hotel was 5 star, the aspects that weren't were: the quality of the sand and clarity of water at oceans edge, the carpeting in halls and rooms is worn and needs replacing, the sheets upon arriving had visible staining, and the sketchy locals hanging out at the parking garage entrance were less than appealing or comfortable to pass by daily. The staff was exceptional however and everyone very warm and friendly, welcoming and accommodating... bring $500 in small denominations because tips seem expected and at most times deserved... The pool was lovely and only one day i got swarmed by children who seemed to be there with island locals posing as guests which ruined the peaceful setting. Like others have said the parking garage is pricey and parking should be included. The resort fee and taxes add up too, making what seemed like a reasonable room rate go sky high. The casino was fun and El Mulino restaurant was a complete 5 star experience and we loved it.
