Long weekend

Posted Nov 7, 2016
We took a Thursday flight and we welcomed by a very pleasant staff. The room was perfect with a small wet bar, fridge, king bed, desk, large walk-in closet and a tremendous bath. Stayed three nights and had a great time. Staff was exceptional.

First class hotel in every way

Posted Sep 16, 2016
Pros: Suite, beach, pools, amazing food (chef prepared special foods for us)
Cons: Nothing really, its perfect as is
Location: St Regis is near Rio Grande, about 20 min east of airport, 30 min eaast of San Juan. Town of Loquillo is close by & great for tasting local foods
I work in the hotel business and operate a four diamond resort so my observation is purely critical .... St Regis is EXCELLENT if you want the best for not much more cost than a regular hotel (September 2016)... We are a couple with no kids & will go stay there again.

Beautiful grounds and friendly staff

Posted Jul 26, 2016
The st. Regis is a wonderful idyllic hotel with beautiful grounds on the beach. My husband and I stayed there three nights and enjoyed eating outdoors in the evening, walking on the beach, and the great hospitality of a well-orchestrated staff. My only complaint would be that we did not get to enjoy the activities there because everything closes early. Kayaking and renting bicycles, for instance, close at 5pm while it seems that it would be a nice time to enjoy nature. The bar area around the pool also closed early. Everything else was stellar!

Sublime - my new favourite hotel in the world

Posted Mar 11, 2016
From the moment you arrive you are treated to an unparalleled level of service. The staff can't do enough to make your stay the most memorable experience of your life. The rooms are amazing and the views incredible. Waking up to the sound of the ocean is wonderful. The food is amazing - private dining on your balcony is a must. I will return to this resort again and again and again .........

An Ecotourism Destination

Posted Oct 16, 2015 on Hotels
Although this is only 50 min away from San Juan, it is an ecotourism set up, something we did not fully anticipate before we got there. It is between the beach and the rain forest. We were exposed to the elements, even within the hotel grounds. e.g. the pool is surrounded by the jungle and therefore mosquitos were ferocious. The room décor was minimalistic and dark. The bed was hard. At night most of the hotel grounds were pitch black and there was no nightlife to speak of. The food is Puerto Rican in all 3 restaurants. If you don't want to eat the heavily salted and spiced cuisine, you either learn to like it or you would have to get a cab to go to San Juan. The concierge was super friendly and helpful, but the rest of the staff is hit or miss. The beach was nice. So was the golf course, which was very playable. The spa was tranquil, but again, it was mostly outdoor and exposed to elements.

Luxury

Posted Aug 9, 2015
Pros: The Luxury
Cons: The food quality and selection at the restaurants.
Location: Lots of kiosk restaurants nearby on Highway 3 that have great local food at low prices.
This place was amazing. We had a suite apartment which had a patio that opened to the beach. The staff was extremely friendly and courteous. We even had 24 hour access to butler service. The gym was good with state of the art cardio equipment. The champagne toast at 6pm was great. The pool grounds clean and relaxing. The only areas of improvement would be the food. We ordered room service and the baked chicken was really salty. The breakfast was really good but very expensive. The humidity is very thick which gave the room a damp feeling; especially, in the bed. Overall, we would come back to Puerto Rico and for sure stay at the St Regis.

resort on beautiful beach

Posted Aug 8, 2015
we went in August low season rates was still pretty high. Seemed understaffed- resort was quite empty but still had to really fight to get an hour extension for late checkout since we were using the spa- even though spg gold members- were told since this is resort they don't honor late checkout for spg members. Spa was nice Few eating options -food was excellent but pricey even for st Regis standards. Constant nickel and diming - we had buffet breakfast and had to pay for juice refills. Compared to the ritz in dorado which has similar prices and better service I'm not sure if we would return. The beach was beautiful compared to dorado beach - the one thing that this place has going for it over the other resorts in a similar category

Dear Distinguished Guest, Saludos from St. Regis Bahía Beach! We thank you for your loyalty in being an SPG member. We value our members and do our best to provide all requests when availability allows it. Being the only AAA 5 Diamond resort on the island for the fourth consecutive year we are honored you enjoyed the facility of Remede Spa and the pristine 2 mile beach. Although our pricing is competitive with the local fine dining industry standards, we do regret that your expectation was not exceeded. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you once again, to Best Address in the Caribbean to reverse your last dining experience and provide an exceptional guest experience. Thank you for the gift of feedback. Warmest regards, Terry G. Bechtold General Manager
