we have a really bad experiences with the hotel staff- no customer services at all.People are lazy and don't help you. I will be sure that we will never come back. Overcharging for everything. No taxi availability- we almost miss our flight after 40 min waiting. We can't recommend this hotel next time will go again to Nuevo Vallarta.

Valentine/Anniversary Celebration

Pros: Many amenities and many restaurants. Don Quioxte had the best food! All of the pools were fantastic!
Cons: Some of the staff members should not misinform guests. See "our experience comments" above.
Location: When booking transportation, client should be told that Barcelo is in Zone 4. We were charged extra upon our arrival. Expedia should know!
Our stay would have been excellent if it weren't for a select staff misleading us to the fact that it would be possible to get a window table for our 47th wedding anniversary. Three of the the staff led us on into believing that we would get a window table that we requested in advance! NOT SO! Why not just tell us that is was not possible?????? Spoiled our anniversary!!!!!!

Nice hotel with nice people

You can smoke everywhere, the rooms are amazing, the water in the pool it's a little cold , VERY careful with the bugs , I would NOT recommend to nobody to make reservations at the restaurant, they make us wait for 1 hr and 30 min and the food was bellow any expectation. But you can enjoy the buffet the food and staff there are amazing

Food and staff was exceptional.

Pros: the hotel was clean and we lacked nothing as far as the hotel was concerened.
Cons: I seriously can not think of anything.
Location: Did not have to leave the hotel for things to do. There was something going on all the time.
The food was fresh and clean and the service through out the whole facility was exceptional. Extremely friendly and helpful staff.

Just Okay.

Pros: The drinks.
Cons: Housekeeping and cleanliness on common areas.
Location: Location was nice. Walking distance to the Zoo and short taxi to the Botanical Gardens.
Barceló PV was just okay. Nothing too horrible and nothing too good. The room was never entirely cleaned and stocked. Some days it was restocked with water or face clothes and some days not. The side/coffee tables in the room were never cleaned, ever. Food was good. Nothing to brag about, but good. Drinks were good. Bartender always made them as requested or would remake to satisfaction. Considering the many options of all inclusive hotels in PV, I would recommend staying somewhere else until they improve the poor house keeping issues.

Chasing the sun, swattin bugs all in a days work

Pros: All rooms have great views and decks. We also liked the fact that it wasn't an overwhelmingly large property.The beach, though small, was very nice.
Cons: Heat up the food and offer some food that doesn't have a 'sauce', ie: veggies without a cheese or other sauce. Activities around the pool area.
Location: Short jaunt into town about 20 mins. We were there for a week, only went once at night. PV was kind of 'shady' and dark, didn't feel safe.
The bugs were terrible, bites and itching, bring your itch cream. The cove is beautiful, but, the sun doesn't get to the beach until about noon. So you can try and find a spot near the pool with sun, then head to beach at noonish. The grounds were lovely, staff wonderful, the food, well, they need some help. Food was always cold and it all tasted the same. The only benefit of the Premiere package was the ability to make dinner reservations nightly if you chose to. We went to the steak restaurant, we didn't make a reservation to go back to it. The beach, looked lovely, but the waves and undertow made it difficult to go in the ocean safely. Unlike other all inclusive resorts, there was no activities in the pool area at all, or beach. It was ok, but we wouldn't go back as there are just too many other places that offer so much more.

nice hotel/resort lots to do.

Pros: i liked that we could hear the ocean.
Cons: room cleanliness, i know the housekeepers are very busy.but the restroom was filthy the walls were really dirty and dusty..
Location: beach is beautiful, we liked that the boats are there to take a ride to view beautiful Puerto vallarta.
we were there to celebrate our 30th Anniversary .. Barcelo is a nice place to stay.the rooms could be a little cleaner. the Bed was very comfortable. staff is nice. lots if tequila. mini bar in the room was restocked daily with coronas and peanuts juice and sodas.we really enjoyed our stay.

2nd Time

Pros: The Staff, Bareclo goes to great lengths in training.
Cons: Little more updating, but we seen evidence that this was happening.
Location: Tonys Hideaway Restaurant is an absolute must try. Ask any local where to find it. its within walking distance of the Barceló.
This was are 2nd time ant the Barceló. We really enjoyed our stay. The food is outstanding. Great selection. Ricardo in Premium Check in was great at giving us all the information we needed. Cesar Castro was a fantastic server. Great sense of humor. We always looked forward to seeing him in the dining area. Not everything is perfect but hardly ever is anywhere. The staff does a great job here. We will go back again. That should speak for itself.

little disappointed with the beach - small

Pros: everything - staff, clean, service and etc..
Cons: service at the snack restaurant was slow. just went one time but there were other good choices
Location: hotel was not too close (45 minute drive) but did not mind all all. there was bus/taxi service.
experience was excellent. I will return to Puerto Vallarte again.
